I backup all my data and system files, ie complete backup, at least twice a month. With the slightest problem with my device I will hard reset and restore from the backup. It takes less than 20 mins to do all this and I will have a perfectly working phone. At the most I lose a few days of data but my phone remains healthy.

I would recommend strongly that you do not flash to WM6.5 because it is still very buggy. The chefs cannot solve the problems only Microsoft can.

Yes it is my HTC HD. Those two activities will zap the life out of the battery.

QUOTE(adz83 @ Jul 21 2009, 12:22 AM) just curious, did anyone knows why the ram only 81.60 mb? cuz if i'm not mistaken the ks20 runs on 128 mb. after i start my ks20 i only gets around 20mb++. since i runs spb shell. i surf using skyfire a lot & it seems uses a lot of ram. any solutions dear sifus? Those figures look about right. Use SKTools to move some of your non critical folders from Device Storage to Storage Card. That will free up your RAM space. If you continue to use up your RAM your device will hang easily. |

Pure PDA= Your device will only function as a PDA without the phone capability.
If you are a noob, I woud suggest that you spend some time learning before you meddle with the nv2 |

Except for trying to move some non critical folders to Storage Card to free up some space for the ROM (Storage), there is not much you could do. When you want to upgrade to a new phone, always go for one that has a bigger capacity of ROM and RAM,eg 512Mb and 288Mb. Fast, smooth and no hanging
A bit costly but the device will last you for a long time. |

Usually 10 MB is sufficient but maybe, ONLY MAYBE, Spb MS v3.0 needs to reserve some storage capacity too.

Over time the registry gets corrupted by the installation and uninstallations of programs. The best solution is to hard reset and reinstall all the programs. It should solve the problem.

Once you have hard reset and installed your programs and the device working properly, do a complete backup of your device. Sprite Backup. In future if and when you encounter problem with the device you can just resort and PRESTO! problems gone

That is the beauty of a WM phone. You can set it up to look unique. iPhone looks like a iPhone
Added on August 8, 2009, 10:27 amA Good Cleaning RAM Program I have been using the htcAddicts cleanRAM for sometime and thought that it was meant only for HTC device. You can also use it for KS20. You can schedule it to clean the RAM automatically to suit your usage, eg every hour or once a day etc . This post has been edited by DrWho: Aug 8 2009, 10:27 AM |

Are you using the crappy Windows Vista? If so, do it from a Windows XP computer.

QUOTE(stutzedward @ Aug 9 2009, 10:27 AM) DrWho, HTC HD with cooked ROM can rival iPhone for its speed and fluidity. Its 3.5 inch VGA screen is difficult to match. I sound like a HTC salesman. I must agree with you WM platform is very customizable. But after using iPhone, I can't stop admiring it's speed, smoothness as well as animated transition between screens. It's way too well designed, at least for my personal preference. Not to mention, the hi-resolution display. I ain't gonna change to other branding of fones, except for another iPhone, which I will be getting another one soon for my other half, the 3G-S. |
