I know that Vista WAS a problem but not sure now. You need to do plenty of googling to find out whether there is a solution for Vista. Easiest is to borrow a Windows 2000 or XP computer from a friend.

QUOTE(Jubee @ Aug 8 2009, 10:28 PM) i give up trying installing WM6.1 WM6.0 only allow you to use up to 2GB SD card. WM6.1 will allow you to use SDHC card to 16GB and above.I juz dont know how to do it... so many confusing thread. Wish someone can simplify it at least i know im on the right path. Happily bought a 4gb microSD card n install the software to the phone... duh~~ fail to detect card. bummer ~~ Here is the WM6.1 KISS ROM flash package. Read the instruction carefully before you flash or run the risk of bricking your phone. |

QUOTE(stutzedward @ Aug 9 2009, 12:37 PM) DrWho, You are absolutely right about the raw WM 6.0 and 6.1 Today page, calender, keyboard etc being butt ugly. Manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and Sony are improving these by making their own plugins or skins. So far nothing beats iPhone UI...........yet! I hv no experience with HTC HD, so it's unfair for me to comment on that but honestly, WM looks ugly until they can come out with something matchable with iPhone OSX. QUOTE(stutzedward @ Aug 10 2009, 07:41 AM) I hv just upgraded my iPhone OS from v3.0 to v3.0.1. Noticed that it takes up less memory and it runs even smoother than v3.0. I see they ironed out some bugs there. The handsomeHTC Firestone, a successor of HTC HD, whose specifications equal or beat HD's. DrWho, I am very honest here, there are not much PDA/Smart fones that has great UI, even Sony and Samsung(not my preference). So far, I think Manila 3D is the best but it really need a very fast and high-end set to host it, eg. HTC HD. I tried M3D in 1st gen Diamond before, it looked great but it feels like a Pentium 3 PC running XP! (remember those days?!) I also agree with Mikey that if HTC can make something looks more handsome externally, it will be so cool! Samsung makes very very nice fones. Added on August 10, 2009, 9:25 am@Jubee Need more info eg did you flash successfully, why enter engineering menu etc This post has been edited by DrWho: Aug 10 2009, 09:25 AM |

The ROM Flashing Package folder contains the NetworkProfile folder. Just copy this folder and paste it at /Windows. It is in the instructions!

Speed wise, the device will be SLIGHTLY faster if the program is installed at the device BUT the device has limited space. When possible install new programs and store data at the SD Card. Storage should have minimum space of 10 MB or else device will hang or lag easily.

I moved from KS20 to 16GB Onmia then to HTC HD. Omnia has a very good support from MoDaCo forum. Plenty of cooked ROM and support. KS20 is an entry level WM phone. Onmia is a mid to upper end WM phone. Fast and stable. Fluid if you calibrate screen properly.
My working 100% Onmia is for sale. PM me if interested. QUOTE(Jubee @ Aug 13 2009, 09:15 PM) OMG !!! so fierce. I am practicing Anger Management. BTW the Korean might have confused you with their English. It should be: To perform a hard reset • Press and hold both buttons(Send+Volume Down) shown enclosed by circles in the picture below. Keep these keys pressed, and at the same time, press the POWER button on the right side of your device and release. And still holding both buttons for a while until the device start booting(about 10 seconds). This post has been edited by DrWho: Aug 13 2009, 10:42 PM |

After a hard reset and you have installed all your applications, it is always a good idea to backup the whole device using Sprite Backup. If you need to hard reset again, just restore and it will only take about 5 to 10 mins and you have all data and applications resorted. Only one caveat, backup when your device is working without problem or else your problem will reappear once the device is resorted.

If you are going to flash, make sure you backup NetworkProfiles folder located at /Windows. If you don't you will only have European Telcos to select from as your telco provider. Flash from a Windows XP or 2000 computer. You can then use a 8GB SD card:)
