Hi, i'm facing some problems with my KS20, help y'all can help..

1) Wifi connected but can't browse..sometimes can, but most of the time can't.
THANKS!
*
I suspect your connection speed is too slow for you to be unable to browse. Below is from my previous post as how to increase your Wifi speed and signal strength.

Good news for those who want to increase the speed and signal strength of their WiFi connection. KS20 comes with WiFi 802.11 B & G. By default WM sets it at B which is a less superior feature. I don't think there is a provision in the original firmware for us to change this WiFi setting.

You need SKTools to do it. Download SKTools from here: http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_downloads.html
You can always use the free Trial version for this purpose. Use this version ; SKTools 4.4.5 (WM5/WM6 QVGA)

At SKTools, choose Tune Up then at the bottom tabs goto Network. At WLAN 802.11 G support select Yes at the top window. You are now set to enjoy a faster speed and stronger strength signal on your WiFi connection

Can anyone please anyone tell me these about LG KS20:

1. Headset : Does it have 3.5 mm jack, or it uses LG Headset. As in GSMArena it stated that it has 3.5 mm jack adapter. And is the headset sound good. No 3.5 mm jack but adapter provided.

2. Wi-Fi : Does the Wi-Fi work most of the time. Is it convinient? And do you need a really speed Wi-Fi speed to actualy able to browse or simply moderate speed, because I think my U only has quite moderate Wi-Fi connectivity. If my notebook can browse FB or FS , so does it means the KS20 will be able too? WiFi works efficiently but still tweakable

3. Sound : Most of the users stated that the KS20 has quite poor sound quality. How poor is it? If possible can anyone give any other phones that has quite similar sound quality as KS20. The more examples, the better. And does the ringtone and message alert be changed with my own MP3 files. Sounds very bad

4. Video Playback : Is it OK? Can I install/ is there application that support AVI file. You need third party player, like Core Player

5. Comparison : Compared to LG KU990 Viewty, which one of these phone will be boring after sometimes.

6. Soft Reset : How to do? Will it damage the phone in any way. Soft Reset is good for your KS20 health. Recommended to be done daily.

7. M. Office : Does it work almost like the one in PCs. And again is it convinient if I want to type anything or edit file?

8. Value buy?

9. Biggest drawback(s)?

10. And about the hang problem, is it really that bad and annoying. Will not hang if configured properly

I'm really excited about this phone because of the WM6, Wi-Fi, MOffice. And really looking foward to buy one. The only thing is that I'm afraid that some of the preinstalled applications won't work perfectly or what I expect the would. Especially the Wi-Fi. Please and thank you, and if there anything you want to add just add, anything that will help me. This is the cheapest WM phone in the market

And should i buy the LG KU990 Viewty or this phone. I need a phone that I won't get bored easily.

For those whose girlfriend/wife, who have been complaining that you have spent too much money on this good for nothing phone and also spending so much time tweaking the phone; THIS is something for you to pacify her/them. She/they may even encourage you to use more of your KS20.

The memory cannot be extended. With Wm6.0 the SD card size is limited to 2 GB only. With WM6.1 there is no limit to the size of the SDHC card.

KS20 does not have a GPS cry.gif

One of the main purpose of flashing a cooked ROM is to release more Storage (ROM) and Program (RAM) to your device. The other purpose is to increase speed and stability and also to remove redundant applications.
WM6.5 is still not so perfect yet, go for WM6.1 biggrin.gif

mikehwy,
i agree with you that the default alarm is good provided can get a good wav file.

I used spb time and g-alarm before, i think both drain memory

would you mind to share your good alarm wav file here?

Try these alarm tones and enjoy! biggrin.gif

You don't have to extract a cab file. Just download the cab file directly to your device OR to your PC and then transfer to your device. Just tap that cab and installation will start. wink.gif

well, off the shelf, HD isn't user friendly then. Not everyone has the experience and knowledge to 'tweak' the fone.... in fact, it's the same for most 'stock' Windows Mobile devices.

HTC HD home screen (TF3D Manila) is indeed user friendly. In fact one of the best if not the best UI for WM phones.
I enhanced the look of the home screen by just tweaking it with nicer looking skins. biggrin.gif

I had WM stock w/o any UI in KS20. To me, it's dead ugly until I tweaked it to b ala iphone. Now, I dun think I can live with WinMo without all my customized apps.

I've never tried TF3D in HD but in Diamond, it's slow n jerky.

Anyhow, I hope d new WinMo can b much beter, not d Win 3.11 style anymore.

You are absolutely right about the raw WM6.0 or WM6.1 being "ugly and unfriendly" without a built in UI. WM6.5 has a friendly and nice looking UI biggrin.gif

TF3D in Diamond was HTC first and since then has improved substantially. TF3D manila 2.5 will be out soon, with further improvements.

Finally, so far, nothing beats the REAL iPhone UI tongue.gif
