Actually the biggest factor that no one mention is, for example: China seller can sell Item A 1000 units a month. Malaysian seller can sell Item A 50 units a month. China seller can have smaller profit margin because of his volume.

There are many factors that already can see local seller struggle. Taxes, damaged goods returns, administrative costs for examples. Although pity them but it is 2021. Time to evolve..

But for me usually is not about price. I dont want to buy m get item 2 weeks later so I still always buy local even tho more expensive.

I still prefer local shop than china shop

China berry big. There is reason why big MNC love China and Asia to be their manufacturer.
lower living cost come lower labor however China labor cost is on the rise but still cheaper.

your point is correct also. First a product must be good and cheap to survive in order to get high sales volume in china market.

I believe high sales volume can reduce the manufacturing cost. This is why china famous brand can be sell in cheap price in china. But local seller unable to do that due to they want to get almost 100% profit.

one more thing need to tell you that china labor cost is not low at all. Normal executive level in first grade city is same like our manager level and their senior exec level almost same like our entry senior manager salary.

If the local seller also selling China products, there is no difference for the consumer. The only advantage to buy from local seller is when the product is readily available already in Malaysia, so delivery time is faster. Most shopee buyers knows this, so the choice is in their hands.

You on the other hand should learn how to adapt to consumer needs rather than have this protectionist entitled mentality.

Got these pics shared among our WhatsApp group yes there are many more products sold by local sellers with insanely high prices. I couldn't find the pics of simple paper weight sold for RM15 while China seller only priced it at RM4.80.

I myself nearly fell some items few times but luckily I learned to be patient and search around more for better options.

Nowadays I search for Overseas only instead of Local Seller when it comes to these manufactured products. Its not like I'm buying a locally manufactured product, but rather giving business to a reseller who sourced from China... supporting a local middle-man is hardly the same as supporting a local industry that employs people to produce goods and services domestically.

Even oversea seller the price difference can be HUGE.

For teh stuff I search, its not necessary that China sellers be cheaper in Shopee. But if its knick-knacks and small electronics, more often than not I agree that China is cheaper.
