.....consider yourself lucky to listen to the rig as its already gone back to the owner at nightfall..
Wah..from discussing DIY PSU to Linn.. not bad ya!..  icon_rolleyes.gif
the Linn....gone? Lucky me!!! bsl555, you don't need the Linn lah. Your rig already thrashes a lot of Linn based setups. biggrin.gif

Back to the DIY thread....I guess after seeing you do that initial magic on the DITB, I realise I would have murdered it if I had attempted to touch those caps myself...close shave there! So I think it's best to leave this project in your expect hands. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

That means I may have to go to the next DIY TT session with empty hands unless someone can suggest something for me to do which lies more within my true apprentice status..... sad.gif

Question: are you getting the capacitors for me to install or I proceed to order some next week as I may be going to RS to order some more parts for upcoming projects and modding jobs.

Sidetrack a bit:
No lah..my rig is just modest and entirely different tonality or presentation from a fully specified Linn like the one you auditioned yesterday. I'm seriously considering the Hercules contol board also, but some serious mods have to be implemented for it to flawlessly function. Damning matter is the PRICE + shipping!.. got to find some $$ somewhere.
IN order of priorty to have good TT sound.. 1)the turntable itself, 2) the arm 3) lastly the cartridge and phono stage.
You can install the best cartridge in the world on a cheap TT and it'll NOT do justice in any manner.

My TT is superbly tuned and there's 2 more steps to go....one already on the way, the other one in serious consideration and caught between the Hercules option. Like that, NO-ONE can afford my TT if I decide to sell away. Jeez!.. go higher end..NO END!.. rclxub.gif

I've got the 6 pieces of 220uF Panasonic FCs from Farnell due to arrive tomorrow. I'll bring them over to you to check whether they're the right ones ASAP. Other items, I think it'll be simpler if you got them for me....the learning curve on sourcing components is a bit too much for me right now. sweat.gif

I'll pm you about the Hercules thingy. drool.gif

Guys,
Other than Farnell and RS Components, where else can we get electronic stuffs online? Is it much more 'cheaper'? Thanks!

Reliable but NOT well stocked. They had much more some years ago..the essential or desired items I need most seem to have disappeared or not in stock.
