Instek is quite a good brand..which also OEM for others. Instek or its variants are frequently sold to local factories. Of course Tektronix, Agilent, HP or Fluke will be sought after by American factories..support own countryman's produce mah!..
Nixie ones are all China made.. a bit dodgy there. Price can discount one!..

I've got 2 Instek GW series (discontinued) power supplies. After 5 years, they're still running strong.

Benchtop PSU's seldom fail, unless its frequently abused, improper use and short circuited for whatever reason.
People here don't look after company equipment.. why?.. attitudes.. people seldom change!..period.
The distributor once demoed to me hooking up to a HUGE resistor load at its maximum current for couple of minutes..It withstood the test without a hitch.

I think there is no such thing as patience when it comes to hobbies. It is only when you can unstick the activity from a fanatical hobby level and get back to `facing reality' status, that patience can exist.

Right, in retrospect, we acquire patience when our wallets run out of juice.

I see very little patience in this forum. That tells me there are plenty of well heeled forumers here.

Lol...i would have to agree or realization hits them that you can enhance the hobby to a new level. Likewise, i moved out from headphones nirana to hifi nirvana because i wanted to share my love for music with my wife. It is not so when she has one headphone on and i have one too, why be so aloof when sharing is caring smile.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Unfortunately, a lot of budding audiophiles here have not yet had the benefit of our experience. Hence, they still listen to music in isolation.... But we (hitched ones) have advanced to the higher plane of musical nirvana in unisonance. This is double the enjoyment for the price of one.

BTW back to your thread topic, what DIY project are you working on now? My PSU is almost done. I'll need jazzy to check it out next week before I attempt to power it up. And where is dear dgrebel? Stuck in the midst of exams ah? poor chap.

Didn't you hear? He went to take over our Angkasawan's place in the ISS. He will be running an experiment on how to prevent cold solder joints in a gravity free environment.
