 Shopee starting new bullshit with sellers again, Price going up up up

Shopee just announced an hour ago due to MCO that they're going to start charging extra 2% (plus 6% SST on top) commission for PREFERRED and PREFERRED+ sellers, non-preferred sellers extra 1% (plus 6%)

So now if you see product RM100 and the seller is preferred with RM15 free shipping & coin cashback, the amount Shopee takes is

RM100 minus 2.12% payment fee minus 6.12% programme fee minus 2.12% new COMISSION fee

Cost of selling RM100 product = RM10.36, seller only get RM89.

Typical margin for selling RM100 product without factoring in packaging + overhead cost is only 15%. After factoring in running costs, sell RM100 product u untung RM5 also consider lucky already.

So for what cock seller want to maintain prices and their preferred title? spit at shopee seriously

The platform may have huge number of shoppers, but competition is stiff too because many people are selling the same stuff. While riding on a marketplace, do invest some time and effort to build own store front.

Depends. A lot of sellers have problem with lazada due to shipping partner they cannot choose. If LEL express, need to drop off at Mail Box Etc. and sadai there for up to 2-3 days without movement.

Most sellers I know mark up their prices on Lazada so that it could dissuade them from ordering there.

Ultimately those who have B&M operations still prefer if you come to shop direct buy.

overall my online shopping experience is better with lazada. lazada seems to be more "sincere" with no hidden prices, auto voucher applied etc. Search and filtering also better with lazada apps.

In shopee have to manually select the voucher and also those coins only can get/use for selected items.

i also experience better pricing with lazada.

Unfortunately on Laz if use pay via bank transfer if refund will go to its wallet. Not sure about other payment method. As for shopee, thankfully it is not as such, yet.

Anyway from Customer's perspective, i'll choose preferred seller due to free shipping and higher coin cashback. For seller that 1% increase should be fine for them.

Preferred sellers allows use of coins.

U just hike your price. At the end of the day if people not happy with shopee, they will return to LZD. Just like how people turn away from LZD to shopee few years back.

But only 2 percent hike, from 8 to 10 percent.....yeah, I understand the frustration and the bullshit excuse shopee gives.

I hate shopee coins actually becos u can only claim rm30 worth of coins per day, max. At the end, it's the platform trapping all of us.

Shopee : Yes, as far as i experienced. when refund, 1st 3 days will nag you to activate shopee pay. After 3rd day will went to Bank instead.
Lazada : Unless linking Touch n Go wallet during payment method or simply Top Up to wallet counted as activation, All the refund i experienced so far is straight went to Laz wallet instead of Bank. Not sure about payment by DC/CC though.

Seems like Shopee employing tactics similar to Uber, whack prices down until competition dies, when they are the last/market dominator, then hike up prices. Thats the typical M.O of tech companies now.

But from shop's perspective it takes longer time to accumulate those ratings.

in my opinion preferred status or not actually no difference. i have encountered several times sellers with preferred status sent wrong item or cancelled item ordered and do not honor the order, worse is unable to leave feedback to such sellers

only difference is preferred status allow us to use our coins which occasionally we earned abit too much because of shopee reward/voucher system

and as many has said customer service always is not fair to buyers. ultimately still many will buy from shopee because they understand malaysian buyers (ie cheapskate and buys into cheap tricks and gimmick)

i think for lazada to win over some buyers they will need to create gimmicks too as what shopee is doing but in my opinion as long as lazada maintains it's good customer support, lazada shouldn't be worried cause i tend to buy high value items from lazada over shopee

lazada may have scammers but they do not side the blardy seller/scammer. i reported few times in lazada as well. always getting back my refund in just a couple of days. shopee you will have dispute experience.. you open a dispute wait 3 - 5 days. if seller disputes again then only agent will step in.

for my case after the dispute.. the bugger mentioned he/she resend the item and instead of refunding me shopee insisted for me to wait for the mouse and if i don't want it by then i can resend back. i was so frustrated. item was also listed as local but i had to wait for more than 2 weeks. the seller in order for the to fulfill the delivery time they send me some stupid key chain.

i actually spent alot on online platform.. if i need to read all comments before purchasing i will spend countless hours. in 2020 alone i spent slightly above RM15k in Shopee alone and i told them they will lose this customer if they side such shitty seller. what made me furious was.. they are saying sorry to the seller instead of me. damn.

Anyway now i won't really care if seller local or oversea anymore so long there's tons of ppl buying from the person i will just go ahead. back then due to MCO i was thinking to support local hence in 2020 i tried buying everything from local sellers even if they are selling slightly higher than others.

Yes yes. Best indicator is how many sold. If already sold hundreds or thousands then very unlikely to be fake.

yeah.. but like i said.. i really have the intention to buy from local sellers hence that guy is pretty new with 20+ sales only that time. but later after kena scam baru notice... fake reviews etc.. aduhai.

but.. even selling in thousands or tens of thousands it could still be scam/unethical. same time i had any dispute with Aliexpress but after providing proof.. the seller sent the item to a different address and not mine Aliexpress refunded to my AMEX in 5 days. It's just the procedure of shopee which i find it's so retarded having to wait 3 days, then 5 days, then trouble me to send back the fake mouse and stupid keychain to seller took another 3 days, again the bugger has 3 days to verify recipient of item and he dare to dispute saying he did not receive. that's how it end up to more than 30 days before i get my refund.

It is normal since some buyers don't really bother review. What is not normal (at least from my pov) is the seller attempt to artificial bloat on quantity sold by splitting quantity of the supposedly a set of item, giving the impression of extremely cheap price that sold at extremely high quantity per order.

i hope another platform comes out just like how shopee deal with lazada. Now something has to come to deal with shopee. Shopee getting big headed.
Buyer end up losing because of this hike.

But Lazada is waaay better now and i think consumers are noticing this too. They have pulled up their socks and i think its only a matter of time before they are back to their glory days

but now aliba is down because being Fine for abuse.
Will laz get drag down too ?

laz need is to get back their customer.Why laz doesn't goes back to old days , free shipping + voucher flat if use wallet ? Laz already have their own laz express shipping cover. Just follow some shope coin alike voucher and all will back to old times but I am not sure the the rate of charge for commission and tax for laz.
