Added on October 15, 2007, 1:04 ampennywise, I heard the same thing from my vet. He says, usually the first jab is taken after the puppy is 42 days old, which is 6 weeks. So any jab taken before 42 days consider as invalid jab, because they can't really absorb the vaccination.... therefore, start from your second jab, your vet will consider it as the first jab, therefore moonie needs 4 jab to complete the first 3 jab.... I hope I make sense here lolz...

I was adviced to give another jab to Miki, even though her first jab is just 2 days away (40 days old) from exactly 6 weeks (42 days)...

As far as I know, heartguard those are only for heartworms, worms that attacks the heart, and cannot do the thing that deworming pill can do. Indoor dog should still take deworming pill, if you don't let your dogs out from your house, not even the balcony/yard... then deworm every 6 months. If you bring your dogs out for a walk where he/she will walk on roads and grass, it is recommended to deworm 3 months.

I have heard from "someone" told me, deworming pill is just a waste of money. You just need to deworm it when you see worms in their poo!!! I think this is ridiculous.. anyhow, I think prevention is better then cure!

No no.. what I meant was... Miki first jab is on her 40 days old... then second jab is a month later... When I bought her, she done 2 jab already... so when she is due 3rd jab, which is another more month, the vet says the first jab is invalid, so come again 3 weeks later for the final jab. So totally she taken 4 jab.

Pennywise, I am shocked when I read your post... Feel so sorry for Moonie if she is really sick... If you are worry a lot, like everyone else said, get some advice from another vet. Hope Moonie is alright.
