What kind of fruits do you often give your dogs? Vege like carrots and potatoes? Sometimes, I wanna feed Casper human food but quite skeptical as I am not entirely sure what's good for him and what else will harm him.

Mother nature dog treats? I will give it a try. I respect you guys who actually dares to taste dog biscuits. I dont have that bravery! Once, I tried to force myself take kibbles but touch my tongue, I spit out liao - somehow cannot bring myself to swallow it la.

That's why, I am also thinking of a GENG treat to housebreak Casper even better!! So far, cannot find any lor but then I think doggies love human food and that would be considered as a GENG treat!

It's amazing how you wrote that the mother will train the puppies to do their business on wee-wee pad. It's like one of those nature natural thing and it simply amazes me. Any idea how you train your Maltese to pee more ACCURATELY? Hehehe... I am hoping to get a female Westie during this year-end break so can spend lots of time with it like Raya, Deepavali, school break, Christmas, New Year... this is indeed the BEST time!

Anyway, I saw my second Westie liao. I have decided to buy her and name her Cassie.

Cassie is 7 weeks old+, just left the mother yesterday. She is due for her second vaccination on this coming Wed and let her settle down for a day or two before bringing her home on Fri for the long weekend.

The Sire is from Thailand but been MKA certified as Malaysia Champion. The Dam is imported from Taiwan.
One question: People always say that Thai dogs are shortlived. Since this is a product of a Thai Westie which became Malaysia champion and a Taiwan imported - will Cassie be having a short-life too? Or the new generation didnt matter anymore? I'm concerned about her genes considering her dad, even though a Malaysia champ, came from Thailand. Please advise. Thank you.

I am sorry I cannot help you with a German Shepherd cause I asked around from my breeders liao, three of them all closely related to me but they also say nowadays, it's quite rare and people dont like to breed it as it's very difficult to jaga.

Actually hor, grooming dogs are fun! I do them myself too and I enjoy it, Casper enjoy it! Get you two closer also but with the face, you have to be careful. Hold the janggut tight tight with one hand and cut with the other. That's how I cut the hair between his eyes - worry poke him, so hold tight tight until he cannot move.

Hey, thanks for trying man. I really appreciate the effort. Many places dont know how to cut Westie hair, yes most of them will look like MS but that's ROUGHLY what it looks like but the head has to be rounder la. You can see Westie cut from Caesar or Simba dog food but rarely you can find Westie looking like that.

Mr. Chan sell me for RM2.5k, he wont reduce as it's the only female, champ line and also the female is bigger size than the males - which I think is good so that next time if give birth, wont have so much problems as a smaller sized doggy. Even though Cassie is bigger size, it's still smaller than Casper when I bought him last time.

Sorry I couldnt make it. I've been sick for a week now, coughing like dunno what. I wonder if it's because Casper slept in my room and got fur, worry it leads to asmathic even though I'm not one now.

RM3.6k is indeed a pain, will burn right through my pocket and my gf will possibly send me flying with my fist. This month pokai somemore, festive seasons all coming... Sheez! Gf complain I dont save enough, sister excited gila over Cassie. Good thing is school holiday coming so my sister is most everyday to jaga Cassie! This Fri I take dog = my sis last day of school. Ahhhhhhhhh... lega!

I have some questions:

1. The breeder keeps Cassie and her brother in a cage behind his house. When I lift them up, I see red spots on the stomach. I asked him why is that? and he replied mosquito bites! Isnt that harmful for pups who has only taken ONE vaccination? What can I do to prevent future problems? Deworming or Heartgard?

2. I'm feeling guilty for buying only Cassie and leave her brother behind to Mr. Chan. God knows who he wants to sell it too, he also did mentioned that he might keep him for his own as a stud dog in the future. Help me feel better? Guilt guilt guilt, strong sense of guilt!

3. How do I keep Cassie when the rule of thumb when introducing a new dog to home is to NEVER CHANGE the existing lifestyle of the current dog (Casper). Casper lives in my living room, with a 3ft cage attached to 5 pieces of play-pen. This play-pen can be set as a circular or pulled all the way to be a runway. Usually, we set it as a runway so that the other end would be newspapers laid on the ground to let him do his business. Now, I know I cannot change anything for Casper's side and neither can my house fit another dog-cage. If I put another in the living room, even temporarily, my mom is gonna scream saying I turned my house into a kennel.

Good thing is the breeder is willing to borrow me a cage of my choice.


Other questions:
1. Should I start training Casper to sleep in a box / bed?
2. Casper is housebroken (not 100%) and can tahan longer before he needs to do his business. Should I let him sleep out and let the new pup sleep in his house? Then that would mean breaking the rule of thumb, changing Casper's lifestyle?
3. I worry Casper step Cassie to death, would I need 100% supervision?
4. Will Casper be territorial when Cassie comes home?
5. Will Cassie freaked out if she comes home to a dog three times her size?
6. This is my first time introducing one dog to another, what should I do? Please advise on the existing dog part and also the new dog part.

I think Casper will go all over Cassie cause even with bigger dogs, Casper will still climb over, stand up tall and when it comes down, sometimes the nails will ter-scratch other dogs so need to be especially careful if its the face. He likes to stand up and then come down, zapp... if kena the eyes, I think the other dogs will go blind and I do not want that to happen.

Is there any cure for mange? Should I bring it to a vet immediately? What's your advise?

Insanitary breeding conditions eh? And weak immune system. Ok. I will keep that in mind and question my vet more later. My vet is trustworthy, a very nice young lady who loves dogs to bits. She lives in Sri Kembangan but come to work at Klang, super caring wan so I'm not worried about trust here.

Thanks! I'm feeding Acana too! The white bag one. Are you having any problems in feeding? Casper dont really wanna eat his food. His meals are usually breakfast and dinner, now one day he only eat one time. Bugger getting choosy again.

Yes ok, I will check the mange first before bringing it back. I will try not to upset him, kind of skeptical since Casper is about 2 - 3 times Cassie size.

Oh I see... when I fed Casper Orijen also same thing... could it be due to Acana and Orijen from same manufacturer? Cassie is coming on Fri, I am going to feed her Blackwood too.

Not so much of health problems but more towards attitude problem. Maybe the smell too strong for him so he is very reluctant to eat it. Usually I feed him 8am and 6pm. Nowadays, he only eat 1 meal per day and no, I did not change his portion.

Oh ok, I'm not so sure about tear stains because Casper hardly have any. I know when he had Orijen, his skin got red dots and rashes la. Acana no such problem as protein content is 24% only.

I also want to try out a pack of Blackwood for puppy. What BW do you feed Mikey oh?

I think higher protein gives more build and energy, not sure if it helps with the coat.
