what tempted me about the Hitachi was the size, the Pixel Resoultion 1,280 x 1,080 and the price.

But like you say...after some observation, it seem the Sony one has a better PQ even the 1,366 x 768 pixels.

BTW, is those 100htz really make a big diff?

Hmmm I heard that most of the models from diff brands are on dropping price - u might wan to wait for awhile since brands like samsung, sharp, philips and panny are going to launch their new models (comfirmed for panny as they just launched their new generation 8 models in las vegas on last month, u might be seeing them in asia soon) except for pioneer as they just launched their kuro quite recently (they launched on every end of the year)

So u might wan to hold ur kuro first before looking/comparing to other incoming models if u plan to get it after the month of May.... it's just my suggestion only.

Was at the shop today and saw the Panasonic Viera TX-32LX700MK...The PQ is very nice IMHO....

How does the above compare to SONY 32D300A?

I'm now torn between the two...Price is about the same...only 200-300 diff (sony more exp of course)....but I'm leaning towards SONY because the below reason...

1) D300a accept 1080p signal. > I know both are not a 1080p panel
2) D300a uses 10-bit panel
3) D300a output in 24p mode for BD Movie
4) D300a have 3 HDMI input (great for my PS3 and XBOX ..then have another one extra

What makes me think twice is the 100hz implementation by Panny is very good compared to SONY...What Hifi magazine give both TV a 5 star rating but I haven't read the full review..

So l need you guys, the great gurus on this thread...pls help me here...my money will be here by end of feb and hopefully I can enjoy my TV by that time...

Oh and my main use of the TV will be ranked from most usage (1) to less usage (4) as oer below.....

1) PS3/XBOX games
2) Blu-ray Movies
3) Movies from PS (anime and other downloadable movies)
4) Astro (not very mportant as I'll be using my 29" CRT tv for this mostly...)

Thank you in advance...

Can anyone suggest how best to calibrate a LCD TV? I was told that a properly calibrated screen will improve PQ by another 10-15%.

Is there software that I can buy or download from the net or do I need to engage a specialist to do the job?

What about video test pattern?

Thanks & Cheers!!!
