Was at the shop today and saw the Panasonic Viera TX-32LX700MK...The PQ is very nice IMHO....

How does the above compare to SONY 32D300A?

I'm now torn between the two...Price is about the same...only 200-300 diff (sony more exp of course)....but I'm leaning towards SONY because the below reason...

1) D300a accept 1080p signal. > I know both are not a 1080p panel
2) D300a uses 10-bit panel
3) D300a output in 24p mode for BD Movie
4) D300a have 3 HDMI input (great for my PS3 and XBOX ..then have another one extra

What makes me think twice is the 100hz implementation by Panny is very good compared to SONY...What Hifi magazine give both TV a 5 star rating but I haven't read the full review..

So l need you guys, the great gurus on this thread...pls help me here...my money will be here by end of feb and hopefully I can enjoy my TV by that time...

Oh and my main use of the TV will be ranked from most usage (1) to less usage (4) as oer below.....

1) PS3/XBOX games
2) Blu-ray Movies
3) Movies from PS (anime and other downloadable movies)
4) Astro (not very mportant as I'll be using my 29" CRT tv for this mostly...)

Thank you in advance...

Got myself a Sony D300. Brilliant colour output. Astro looks reasonable on normal mode but stretchy on wide mode. Could really see the difference on Astro even when switch the motion enhancer to standard or high. Superb on Xbox360.

Yello!

i was also torn between those two... but in the end i bought Sony 32D300A because for Sony, a lot of things can be manually configured (e.g the 100Hz can be set to Off, Standard or High, and you change the backlight settings..where as for Panasonic the 100Hz is permanently on and you cannot change the backlight).. But of course, if you're the kind who just wanna watch tv/dvd as it is then you dont need all these configurations control la..

Also for Sony, you can have different configurations for different input .. i.e different settings for DVD, PS3, Astro etc..

Another reason i bought Sony is that after discounts, the sony ended up being RM100 cheaper than the Panasonic..

cheers

Well just to ask around....

I saw a Bravia 32D300a in Best Denki 1 Utama. Display Set, price is RM3199.

I then asked the assistant to check if they still have a new unit instead of a display set. Waited for a few minutes,,,the say only have 1 more....then they bring out the box...still sealed nicely.

I then asked the price, they say....the nomal price still stands 3999...Then I just main2 and asked..."go ask you manager...can get the dispay set price with the new unit or not?"

Then he just make 'the face' at me and go ask his manager...then suddenly he came back with a happy face...told me I can pay cash 3199 and take the new unit home....

I'm like...check my bank account...ensure got enough money...trus buy teh item....

So now got a new tv but still kenot pasang yet as I'm outstation and will only be back this friday....

So did I got a good price?

no mistake, so far the best 32" LCD TV in Malaysia Market are

a) Panasonic VIERA TX-32LX700mk (Best PQ)
b) Sony 32D300a (Second PQ But More Feature & setting)

Both retail 3999. But you can get the price like lapaq at Best Denki Rm3199 is very good buy.

I tested both tv and my eyes liked the Sony one much more. 700mk have 1 very significant flaw...you can't turn off the 100hz thingy (or I can't find the switch - many review says the same thing)

It's very important as not all pictures is better with 100hz. also...Sony is a 10-bit panel with 24p feature of which pana is not.

I'm lucky to get that price but normally they would sell at 3.6k..but I heard SS2 are selling them at 3.4k but unfortunately the've out of stock and Sony is not repleneshing them...New model is coming out in April....and you know what the price will be....no major changes in features but more in asthetic....that is according to the kedai towkay.
