Painkiller like ponstan/nurofen/naprogesic will help with the pain. If still adequate relief, can try nurofen plus (ibuprofen and codeine).
Hot water bottle (or heat patches) and warm drinks can also help.

Worth getting a consultation with a doctor. Some people take oral contraception pill and find their cramps get better.

It is normal to have period pain but if its too painful, best to consult gynaecologist, it could be endometriosis or cyst.

Good on you for being concerned about her and reaching out to ask!

Nothing can be done. But this may help alleviate the pain a bit.

Do simple walking or light stretching exercises, it might helps the blood circulation to process well and reduce the period pain.
Plus, from experience wise, actually the chocolate is not that helpful.

Pls consider accompanying her to consult a gynae a.s.a.p. She needs to do check up, an by a pro/gynae to really diagnose what is the root cause for the period pain. This is the least you can do for her.

Also, start reading up on endometriosis. Girls themselves don't know any better. I have been thru this with my wife. The earlier you/her know the better it is for both of you.

If possible, skip traditional chinese medicine for now until pro/gynae can advice better. Bak foong pills may or may not help if her condition is due to endometriosis, and I think it is the latter. I can't stress on this enough; go consult a gynae PRONTO. DON'T procrastinate any more.

have you guys had sex? normally girls who have never had sex will face this problem...
Next would be a yoga,,there is a special exercise in yoga which can completely eradicate the pain..You have to ask some yoga instructors..Few of friends did yoga and the pain disappeared..

firstly, see a gynae, have some scans to ensure nothing's wrong

secondly, see a TCM doctor that specialize in obgyn

thirdly, lifestyle matters, since she is vegetarian with minimal cold stuff then probably the sleeping habit and exercise is a must

If your gf is a fan of cold drinks, can try to avoid when near to period. Heard that it will work. Or best, cut down on cold drinks

This has basis to it. My wife and I often walk 3-5kms at a fast pace often in the evenings to exercise since we don't fancy running. Walking constantly on days leading to her period, the pain will be reduced. On some months where we got lazy and walk less, it will be more painful.

My fiancee also like that. She went to the gynae for a check. They say it is due to the wall thickening or something like that. To alleviate of the pain, she will need to go through a surgery to remove the flesh of her uterus or sth like that. However it isn't permanent and it will grow back after a few years. The only way to permanent rid of this issue is to get pregnant.

For now, she's using painkillers to alleviate the pain.
