Hey guys,

need some recommendation between this 2 wellknown brands. Planning to get the R32 version. I know Daikin is more famous and widely use but recently i heard Gree is doing pretty damn well for its price point. I need to fit in 9 units in my house. So should i go for only 1 of this brand or maybe i should mix around?

any current user here care to share their input on this?

thanks everyone thumbup.gif

edited infos:

after some reading, im now also considering acson brand as well. here are the models that fit into my budget. any input on them?

Had experience with Daikin and still using it (already 7th year)
Parts are hard to get (if required).

Gree; do not have any idea (good or bad)

Daikin for me a good brand, but why limted to these two brands only?

Panasonic, York are also good.
Acson (cheaper version of York) also a good option for less.

Acson=Daikin. If Acson is cheaper than Daikin, get Acson.

my father-in-law kena con by aircon repair man previously. he said my FIL acson AC expensive to repair so he suggest to just replace with a different 2nd hand unit. my FIL thought he replace with acson as well and just trust the guy. when my brother-in-law came to visit he noticed its not Acson, instead its Gree brand. by then too late to ask for refund dy coz it had been a few weeks dy.

that gree was old model so i dont know if gree has improved since then. but the gree was a LOT louder than the acson and rough. the remote very difficult to understand. not intuitive at all. cooling wise was roughly the same. but too loud, how to sleep?

luckily it was in the spare bedroom so its only used when guests/family stay over.

I don't think Daikin is York, Daikin Industries is not Johnson Controls (York)

I may be wrong, do correct me if I am.

Sorry that happened to your FIL.
My AC guy, says that Acson and York are easily fixed & parts are easy to get. I do not know it cost a lot for repair (probably depends on what needs to be repaired/replaced)
Anyways, if you need my AC guy number (Gombak, KL coverage), I can share his contact...good to have some comparison among different service contractors...

Daikin la. Now got promo 1 year extra warranty for general.

Gree no comment, it might be good. The thing about China electronics is high power consumption.

Better go for popular brand like Daikin/Panasonic since easy and cheap to get spare part.
