Ok la, at least you get some compensation. Have they refunded you the amount you paid? If yes you can purchase again should you choose to.

was checkout using maybank installment, refund still not yet reflect

not enough credit limit to place another order, maybe will borrow use friend's credit card

Update:

1. Received RM30 rebate from Lazada saying sorry for order cancellation due to their system error.

2. Alternative link provided for affected customer to replace the preorder, the air purifier freebies still available for the affected customer.

Thank you Xiaomi for still honoring our preorder

Hey guys, ang moh in Penang here. New to these Xiaomi phones...but need a new phone.

Currently have a Pixel 3a. Should I upgrade to a Xiaomi 11 or a Oneplus? Sounds like there is a new Oneplus coming soon? Should I wait?

I don't know shit about phones...

Hi, welcome on board!

Xiaomi phones have a reputation for being great value for money in terms of price to hardware specs and performance, however the software overlay is not everyone's cup of tea. It has plenty of unnecessary apps that you don't need and can't remove without extra effort, some of the stock apps have annoying advertisements and once a while you'll encounter a bug or two here and there. Since you currently use a Pixel, I'm guessing the OnePlus' cleaner and lighter user interface will be more around your wheelhouse, but OnePlus phones don't offer the same value for money proposition that they used to. Best wait and see since the launch of the OnePlus 9 is imminent. If anything, you can get the older OnePlus 8 Pro at a discounted price once the new one launches.

Thanks for the reply. I am more used to the Pixel with no extra crap for sure. I can't believe Xiaomi puts ads in the interface? That is crazy. Do you have to root the phone to strip out all the extra UI junk?

Any idea when the new OnePlus comes out????

Xiaomi is more suitable for those which are geeky and know what’s happening to their phones.

As Xiaomi tends to mess up their software updates (buggy) from time to time, if you’re not a tech savvy enough, it might leave some bitter taste in the user experience to you.

As for ads in UI, actually they didn’t done it so. They put ads in their stock apps like Browser, Cleaner, file manager and etc. Most of them can be disable once and for all in respective settings, by disabling the “recommendations”. Though the stock browser did pushed some Xiaomi new launching ads to me recently, there by I’m suggesting don’t use the stock apps whenever possible.

No, there’s no ad in the interface but just on the stock apps, like file manager, cleaner, etc. And no, there’s no need to root your phone in order to remove the ads or unwanted apps. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube out there.

Heard the new OnePlus launches on the 9th... let’s wait and see smile.gif

Wow that's soon.

And yes you're right. Moving from OnePlus 8 Pro to iQoo took some getting used too and I kinda miss that slim form factor.

I might decide to sell my OnePlus 8 Pro eventually though. sweat.gif

Actually I'm only using the iQoo7 now as daily driver since CNY. The Mi10T Pro is a spare and cos I wanted to try out the MIUI12's clone mode on the camera.

I was using the 1+ since May20, which itself was an upgrade from the Huawei Mate 20 Pro I was using 2 years ago.

It was either this or the Mi 10 Ultra but the pricing of the 10T Pro for 1,999 was too good to resist.

Obviously, getting the global Mi 11 should be an even better option vs the 10T Pro bro. Asides from adding 1K to the price, similar camera [108 MP?] but faster chipset and movie magic, if you're into that kind of things.

As for the overheating, if you're not an avid gamer etc, shouldn't be an issue.

Some people say might as well wait for Mi 11 Pro etc, but if you're in the market to get a phone NOW, then probably consider checking out the upcoming Redmi Note 10 Pro also... Probably not a good comparison cos one is Flagship vs Mid Range but heck, the specs on the Redmi Note 10 is insane!

I'm also looking at the upcoming K40 Pro... biggrin.gif
