Was once a xiaomi 5 user, then switched to Oneplus.

I’m really tempted and poisoned for price but I’m always hear terrible reviews on MiUI so I’m bit skeptical plus no one using Chinese smartphones in our family

i can wash my phone anytime under the water tap. or using a phone in a shower. 

Ditto, my sister over confident with the IP rating on her Samsung and wash the phone regularly. One time some water sipped in and KEK the display IC got burnt. Another time is her Note9, the charging port also detecting water resistance issue, luckily the inside is still fine.

My friend who purchased a new Pro Max 12 during launch day to replace his XS Max actually went and wash his XS Max under the tape with soap and water. Guess what? The display died after that and he sent it back to MacCity for repairs. He was quoted Rm2k for a replacement unit as his display was water damaged. The phone is a paper weight right now. 
TBH I have washed my XS Max quite a few times and it's still running fine. Most probably the waterproof membrane gave up after time. So I'll make sure not to wash it anymore after this incident.

Plan to get mi 11 bro? Haha. But surprised no 12gb ram variant like china set.
