Getting one ?

A little tempted at 2799
*
If I do get one it’s just to try MIUI 12.5 - they claim it will be cleaner and less bloaty smile.gif

Yep, already tried it
Best 2k display so far at Xiaomi range
Best soundstage by Harmon Kardon
Best SD 888 performance
During setup or play light games no heat up just slightly warm
Didn't try high graphic games
🔋 So far so 👍
Signal reception no issue
GPS no issue 😊

Nice bro.. looking forward to trying it at some point laugh.gif

Does xiaomi still have ads in their phone?

Was once a xiaomi 5 user, then switched to Oneplus.

QUOTE(NagaK @ Feb 25 2021, 10:46 PM)
I’m really tempted and poisoned for price but I’m always hear terrible reviews on MiUI so I’m bit skeptical plus no one using Chinese smartphones in our family
*
The ads are there but can be turned off. Granted MIUI isn’t as clean as Oxygen OS for sure, but MIUI 12 is a huge improvement over previous reiterations of MIUI. I tried both Poco F2 Pro on MIUI 11 and Mi 10 on MIUI 12 last year and the difference is stark. Still had to manually remove the bloatware but overall the experience was good.

i can wash my phone anytime under the water tap. or using a phone in a shower.  laugh.gif
*
Remind me not to buy a used phone from you bro, hahaha..

For me personally, I think it’s rather disingenuous from manufacturers to have IP68 rating on their phones and yet explicitly state that water damage is not covered by warranty hence I end up every bit as careful with my Samsungs and iPhones as I am with my non-IP certified phones. So not having IP certification is alright for me, as long as the price is fair, and Xiaomi has that in spades.

Ditto, my sister over confident with the IP rating on her Samsung and wash the phone regularly. One time some water sipped in and KEK the display IC got burnt. Another time is her Note9, the charging port also detecting water resistance issue, luckily the inside is still fine.
*
Yeah, my point exactly laugh.gif Given the phone prices of flagships these days, I wouldn’t risk washing my phone, hahaha...

attw is Norddd buying.  rolleyes.gif
*
Hahaha, will la bro, I will try the Nord before I get the Mi 11... waiting for the same quantum of discount that I got for my Mi 10 previously... so probably 6 months down the road or so...

But to be honest, there's no incentive to try the Nord - price still stubbornly high and no Android 11 still...

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Feb 26 2021, 10:26 AM)
My friend who purchased a new Pro Max 12 during launch day to replace his XS Max actually went and wash his XS Max under the tape with soap and water. Guess what? The display died after that and he sent it back to MacCity for repairs. He was quoted Rm2k for a replacement unit as his display was water damaged. The phone is a paper weight right now.  laugh.gif
TBH I have washed my XS Max quite a few times and it's still running fine. Most probably the waterproof membrane gave up after time. So I'll make sure not to wash it anymore after this incident.
*
Yeah, I remember reading the iPhone XS thread you wrote you wash your phone often and with soap too! laugh.gif

Plan to get mi 11 bro? Haha. But surprised no 12gb ram variant like china set.
*
Yes bro, plan to try it at some point but probably will wait for some discounts and the 128GB one.

Hahaha, for me 8GB is more than enough smile.gif

Nope. It didn't. I felt pro should be enough lah. But i wondering what will they add? Better camera?
*
That’s the way it goes with most “Pro” phones these days, larger screen, better camera and bigger battery.

QUOTE(am_i_rulez @ Feb 27 2021, 12:30 PM)
no, just imported set.

Would probably be too expensive if it comes here officially laugh.gif

Samsung's new sensor actually

https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-Xiaomi-Mi...r.524616.0.html

Meanwhile.... Huawei P50pro rumoured to be using upcoming Sony IMX800 which is the largest sensor in a mobile phone (1")

As long as Huawei remains without GMS, it’s hard seeing how the phone will appeal to the masses outside of China. There are workarounds, of course, but it’s still not for everyone.

the imported set price for mi 10 ultra 256gb is rm4.2k if i'm not mistaken.

Yup. Still a very young brand though. Around 2 years if not mistaken.

Although under Vivo umbrella so it should be quite ok I guess.

That's the one phone brand I have yet to own biggrin.gif

Ok la, at least you get some compensation. Have they refunded you the amount you paid? If yes you can purchase again should you choose to.
