Videos
70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S recorded in H.265 2592×1944 30fps with an overall bitrate of 24.8 Mb/s.

70mai rear camera RC06 recorded in H.265 1920×1080 25fps with an overall bitrate of 10.3 Mb/s.

Final thoughts
This 70mai A500 series is an upgraded 70mai Dashcam Pro. Now the newer 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S has dual dashcam functionality with the RC06 rear cam.

Attached Image

The 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S now uses the Novatek NT96580 processor instead of the Huawei HiSilicon Hi3556 V200 processor in the 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus A500. I am liking the change to Novatek by 70mai. But I do hope in the future there will be a 70mai dashcam which will be using super-capacitors instead of lithium batteries.

The ADAS of the 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500S, I can say that is about 80+% accurate like my Thinkware U1000’s ADAS. 70mai's parking mode will starts recording when there's a trigger of the G-sensor.

Your headlight beam seems to be out of alignment in the night drive video ie too high, beam scattered all over...

Anyway how's this compared to A800? Am new to this, should i be worried about the battery since cars will be parked outdoor most of the time?
Am now exploring to equipped this dashcam on all cars especially driven by the kids
Front windscreen has another darker tint, should the camera be placed there or lower as i don't it to obstruct the view?

Good info here mate! thumbup.gif

Later will adjust the level. Looks different anglefrom the previous LED bulb.

A800 is 4K resolution for the main cam. Both using the same rear cam RC06.

The battery will surely die in the heat within a year or 2 depending on your luck. But heard 70mai battery is replaceable with some DIY.

As long the lens is below the dark tint should be fine.

OK undecided yet if 4k front is really necessary and to hardwire it.. Found a 2 mth old video which is informative on A800

A500S global no stock though in Lzd but any idea what's the labour cost like to hardwire in KV and shop?

Just bought A800s. Got a quick question to have the parking mode recording function. Will need to be hardware kit separately?

I haven't buy any dashcam because not sure how to install myself..

No longer trust accessories shop... all monkeys or gorilla working there, always damage stuff or scratch car here and there.

i bought the old model 70mai after came across blurjoey review. Actually dashcam very easy to install. no need installl actually, just attach to ur windscreen and connect the usb cable. and its easy to hide the cable along the door panel groove..of coz can just let the wire dangling also tongue.gif
if u are going to buy the more complex model with surveilance/parking mode, of coz have to install the hardwire kit to the fuse box..this one need to bring to expert if no knowledge about car electrical..

From what I've learnt this couple of days reading, no need unless battery flat due to too long did not start the car

quite a good cam i would say for the price, but night recording suffer a bit.
other function like connecting to 70mai app, downloading videos etc perform smoothly. i've been using it for around 2 years i think still functioning well.

Now, all new firmware for (A800 and A500 series) needs to use hardwire kit to work the parking mode.

Actually, it's easy to DIY. Only the hardwire kit is hard to install as requires some technical skills.

I drive to your place, ask you wife help me install.. lol

Scare to open the interior panels on the car. Few time experienced broken clips or plastic part when prying it open to route the wires.
Some interior parts cannot even buy replacement, chop shop also dun have cry.gif

casual DIY dunno up to your standards or not la laugh.gif

we didn't even remove any plastic clips or parts, only slightly pry it open with hands and don't even have prying tool (the earlier 70Mai didn't include.)

Off topic a bit, for Pro Plus A500...

What is the right sd card spec to buy?
Do you guys buy together fro dashcam seller usually?
Should I get 32gb or 64gb? Why?

Got lousy bonus for exceptional performance, so I need to downgrade dashcam cos of budget...

Cheers!

Nowadays no one buys 32GB anymore. 32GB can record less than 2+ hours of video for dual dashcams (2K front and 1080p rear).

Minimum go for 64GB which is 4+ hours of videos. Or max 8+ hours with 128GB.

My prefer choice is Samsung Evo Plus or Pro Endurance.

Noted sifu... Seller Dasher recommends 64gb, if buy separately may save $16 😂
