Asus nerfs BIOS for cheaper boards though. Might be only for ROG Strix.

Or go for other boards like msi that doesnt nerf bios on their lineup. Gigabyte doesnt too but their bios sucked to begin with lol.

Chance for MSI to make big bucks. MSI B660M Mortar? Yeah, I'll pass on Gigabyte BIOS.

The Ncase is also works best with a negative pressure setup as there's so many little cutouts and vents here and there on it, so the best solution for a GPU without water blocking it is to buy a 3 slot GPU, deshroud it, and use the bottom fans to force air out of the case through the GPU heatsink.

TI suspect the VRM may not get sufficient cooling with this method, but not sure what's the impact on stability will it be. Sorry off topic.

Hello,

after checking with BIOS department, our 600 series mainboards support BFB, too.

Best regards,

I wonder which boards are known to allow BCLK overclocking like this, particularly for B660.

I remember reading about this feature coming back on alderlakes so i assume they all should be getting it as this is more of a mobo setting than cpu's and would be totally up to the mobo makers to put it.

With this implementation, AMD would be totally dead in the price/perf bracket... seeing how the 12400 bclk overclocked easily beating the 5800X. While AMD still lansi not dropping their prices.

So... my old 3770K desktop seems to have issues with the SATA ports. Got a few BSODs related to the page file, turned out the SATA SSDs were getting disconnected from the mobo. Swapping cables didn't appear to change things. Would using a PCIE to SATA adapter work with the boot drive plugged to it?

I expect them to give up the CPU market this year for everything except 5800X3D until Zen4 comes out, instead of dropping Zen3 prices.

They will chase for profits, and they will make far more cash off Epyc than Ryzen anyway.

Is all the sata ports on the Mobo acting this way?

When it comes to bclk... i think every single board in the market can OC. It is not that stable for past few intel gen but was still doable for around 3-5% extra.

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-co...-10400f/20.html
even linus have covered this. Just show how shitty and noob so many other youtube reviews are.

Past intel cpu have this thing called bclk governor. Guess it's been removed.

Ya the last time I messed with BCLK was for i7-920

But quite unstable coz all clocks including pci will sama-same increase.

Edit: after a certain BCLK, tri-channel memory become two-channel laugh.gif

Not a problem. Adjust the bclk/pcie ratio. Cpu those era when bclk oc is a thing, can usually handle 200mhz anyways.

Yall probably came after the era where overclocking you need a calculator and a notebook to count all the freq and multipliers because the bios doesnt calculate for you.... then when tweaking terlupa change one multiplier pc crash, restart cmos then zzz have to set everything from scratch laugh.gif no such thing as profiles either.

Skylake onwards io and pcie is separated iinm. So alderlake bclk only affects memory, cache and core.. though im not so sure about this. That's why dont see the bclk/pcie ratio settings.
