My friend and I tried to redeem the game code and received the infamous i2501 error code. Our trial accounts were created many months ago and we bought the game code from official square enix eu store during the sale.

From what I read online, the code is not limited to UK region. Even players registered at NA also encounter it. Many methods have been suggested by different players and results are inconsistent. The only thing before retry is to wait for 24 hours after previous retry or else the system will treat the multiple attempts as fraud or hacking.

Managed to get refund from Square Enix UK store. Mentioned "Error code i2501" when doing the refund





I just started new character with a SG account, no problem when creating it. Not taking chances with the UK account for now.
Imagine your character is max level with all classes and you get Error I2501 when you tried to redeem Endwalker expansion.

May i know how did you make a refund? I got the same reply as you from the customer service, such bullshit when i got hyped up about the game.

EDIT: found my way by submitting an inquiry for refund, not sure if this is the right way, hoping for the best.

if you're dead set to get a uk account you need a uk ip address.
get someone in the uk to register or use teamviewer on their computer.
or get a vps. untested.

right now, you can only register a free trial if you set your country to singapore.

I just registered my sg account to full edition. No problem.

I also have a uk account.
I knew it will be a problem.
That account will now be my forever free trial login account to collect event loot.
I don't plan subbing every month.

I also faced the same issue when I wanted to upgrade my old EU account into Complete Edition, error code i2501.

Somehow I manage to find a a way to bypass it by deploying a virtual server on AWS EC2 on London region, and made the purchase there, problem solved. No charges either since I deployed the EC2 on a Free Tier instance.

Using VPN IP can be inconsistent.
