wei, so nobody saw it yet? wondering how is it like..

oh... just saw the trailer... Jackie saying "He doesn;t know kung fu" in english, in a wu xia type environment is truly surreal. Who knew they spoke english in china?

jz saw it 9.30pm show.... u will go home amazed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!









and feeling stupid bcoz chinese monk, chinese drunken master, chinese monkey king, chinese god all speak english. stil a must watch bcoz it has jet li & jackychan in it eventhough its a typical crap kungfu movie by gwailo producer. dont go in with much high expectation n u might enjoy the movie.

Just came back from watching it. Did not expect it to be good because its a Hollywood movie but it turns out to be OK.

What I like about the movie:-
1) The fight scenes is quite good especially the fight between Jackie and Jet (comparable with the fight scenes from Croughing Tiger between our Datuk Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi)
2) Special effects is OK not great but not too bad either
3) Li Bing Bing shines as the White Hair Witch even though her screen time is very short (tribute to Bride with White Hair)
4) Crystal Liu shines as well but not as good as in Condor Heroes (fanboys will love this)
4) Even though it sounds strange but quotes of Chinese proverbs in English sounds real funny (Example, One mountain cannot have two tigers)
5) Nice way of re-imagining the Journey to the West story and some famous wuxia stories (purist might hate this)

What I don't like about the movie (its longer than what I like about the movie but it does not mean the movie is very bad):-
1) The real hero of the movie is an annoying white kid who looks like a cheap knockoff of Shia Labeouf
2) Too little screen time is given for the fight scenes between Jackie and Jet
3) The story is way too disjointed until you don't feel exciting
4) All the villians wear too much eye make-up until they look stupid instead of menacing
5) Collin Chou is wasted here. His fight scenes with Jet is too short and there were not even a fight with Jackie.
6) Jackie's character totally disappears at the climax and only re-appears at the end.
7) Really cheesy way to travel back in China
8) Cheesy way for the Jade emperor and his wife to float away

Overall, I feel its a wasted chance for a better movie between Jet and Jackie. It could have been much more better if its a HK movie handled by someone like Tsui Hark.

Note: Most of the gwailoh reviewers cannot get the story especially why the Monkey King is so important and why he fights in a childish way.

2. Love the fighting... damn JC vs JL fuh yeah2 love the Drunken Master Kung-Fu, Tiger, Mantis, Snake Kung-Fu haha... sure it hit hard man...
3. Love the cute2 chix

Overall, its kinda a Comedy type of movie, not a Kung-Fu fighting movie haha... Comedy > Kung-Fu

So for you guys/garls out there... Should check this film out... Worth my rm6 haha...

just watched movie...overall its not bad... just that it would be better if its in mandarin or even cantonese...
the direct translation from chinese to english is a total crap...especially when jet li taught the boy some kung fu theories..
but the fighting part between jet and jackie is superb~!!!!

Well its a movie full of expectation but somehow din really match the expectation..It would certainly be better if its in Chinese( not canton plz cuz it might be cheesy too..) cuz when the Chinese casts speak in English everythin went wary..Its kinda kinky and awkward..But sometimes if u give tis kind of movie to Chinese directors, they will turn it into crap too..

Anways, its a decent movie for a family to watch and there's great humor instill in the movie..JC and JL fans should watch tis one as the fight scene is quite epic(would be much better if JL is the villain though..he's good as a bad guy)

I LOL at Colin Chou accent..its so ghey man..but hilarious and cool at the same time.. Li Bing2 is one hot lady.. prefer her over Liu Yi Fei a.k.a Golden Sparrow..

For me, the movie not bad or good, just soso only.

And they change the original story of Monkey King which is unforgivable!

And another big problem is, if they wan to speak english, just use english for whole movie, why speak english then suddenly speak 2 chinese words. It spoilt the whole movie n the viewer mood. What I suggest should be, when talk to the white kid, use english, when Jet Li and Jackie Chan speak, should use chinese. But another problem come out that the white kid don't understand what they say. So all in all, should find a white kid who knows chinese!

And the funny part for me is the Mountain of Flower and Fruit! =.=" Sweat.

Woh.. So many criticism comments. Should go watch or not.. Hmmm...

This film is in English... cool

quite disappointing. the plot is mediocre. i was expecting fighting scenes betweeen jackie and jet li. and i think the movie would be much much better if its not in english (but then later how the main character gonna converse )

Yeah. The English sucks. I cant even comprehend what Jet Li is talking sometimes. The fighting scene is good but we seen it all before in Wong Fei Hung movie.

wat i can conclude is...... the language spoilts it all....

my money was paid just to watch the scenery and fighting scenes... and thats all.....the plot is dissappointing...... its just feels weird to have some western dude to deliver the ancient chinese prophecy.... WTF?!
