Just an open-ended question to everyone to weigh-in.
I feel like sometimes my mind isn't as sharp as it could be. Quite sure this is because of my work etc, stress whatever, but I'm just wondering what are some supplements that you've been taking, and that has shown some improvements in your health?

I'm in my late twenties, male, and do my home workouts everyday because MCO. In OK shape IMO. Anything you would suggest I take? Currently don't take anything at all, stopped protein shakes because can't access actual gym equipment.

what's the reason u want to take supplements? supplements is just to supplement ur body lacking of minerals or whatever nutrients.

to me, sleep is the cheapest medicine.

i take probiotics, vit c, collagen for my bones and occassionally some fibre detox to cleanse my colon. and also some chinese herbs for my major organs.

Actually, what we eat is already enough to provide us with the essential nutrients. For young age, we might not need to take too much supplements, but, supplements are needed to supplement those who are aging or those with underlying sicknesses.

However, if someone healthy and young still prefers to take supplements, maybe can go for slow-release vitamin C and fish oil.

Depends on what TS eat and do on an average day.
Also depends on where you stay.

If you live in the city then you will need to take supplement.
I do not recommend vitamin C unless you are sick.
If you take Vit C but then fall sick then Vit C will not be as effective.

It is good that TS stop protein shake when not active in gym.

If you do not eat properly and lack fiber in food then take probiotic
Otherwise probiotic is another excess that bulks up your colon.

If you use the sesarch function and see comments in LYN then you will find half the comments to take supplements are generally trying to promote those supplements. So if you want to know what type of supplements to take then first list down what you eat daily and for a week.

What is a typical lifestyle of city slickers?
> What do you do?
> What do you eat (and drink) ?
> What are in your surrounding and people you regularly come in contact with?

Another way to describe this is doctors who work in hospitals must adhere to certain dietary requirement.
People who work in night clubs that does a lot more alcohol consumption are also encourage certain supplements.

Protein is basic needs everyday, for body cell recovery & building.
Whey protein is the one for gym purpose.

whey protein is more for workout purpose & muscle recovery.
Did they take any other food beside that?

Seems like they just take that by itself, like a meal replacement

Yeah, maybe they diet and also protein is good, so they just take it by itself, such as during breakfast.

I used to eat whey protein too, convenient and fast, no need to boil many eggs to get the same amount of protein as 1 serving.

What really helped me feel better was vitamin C. It helped fight fatigue and stress. I also take protein, because it's not enough. Watch your sleep and nutrition, that's usually the problem.

Hmm.. there are supplements that might provide energy and help you to adapt better to stress like, ashwagandha, ginseng extract etc. It gives an overall stamina boost. May try antioxidants such as vitamin C, Q10, astaxanthin to reduce stress-induced damage to the body.

But in the end, a good rest is still the best medicine in my opinion laugh.gif

The only supplements I take now is cod liver oil, because of the jibai MCO, and NAC (once or twice a week max).

As long as you're eating whole foods, you probably won't need supplements.
