i guess u can use different techniques for different people. after all we are all not built the same arent we?
different people use different techniques to compensate for playing style, physical build up and even according to their equipment.
so i guess u cant really say which technique or fingerstyle is better.

biggrin.gif

some 2 fingers could be faster then 4 fingers.  nod.gif depends on the god given talent!
*
Actually if you're into the whole speed thing, Sheehan is one of the fastest i've seen. And I think he only uses 3 fingers or 2 sometimes. But i don't know about j-rockers, maybe most of them use 4.

Normally the pinky is more useless than useful if you're going for consistent 16 notes or running basslines or such things. But for string skipping and chords it can be a useful tool if trained properly.

cos those strings are old. there are 2 type of strings its either steel or nickel. as the name suggested steel are eerr.. more harsher but sound brighter and nickel is smoother.

but go try to coated strings.

i've tried ernie ball, fender and d'addario.

ernie ball sounds good but doesnt last long. it rusts quite fast.

fender and d'addario is much better in lasting long without rusting.

to save money, must keep the strings longer lor :shy:
