QUOTE(Paramore @ Sep 12 2008, 02:58 AM) Ya, just helping you out. you two bassist oso ah?! swt lah.I use both, some songs need pick and some do not. It is depends on the song. There is a different tone on every one. |

me usually use 2 fingers, sometimes the 3rd finger. rarely 4 fingers. thats me haha i guess to get better playing style, is to just keep building finger strength and articulation. the only way to get that is to play play play loh. |

QUOTE(Mythras231 @ Oct 7 2008, 09:48 PM) wow then u must be pros! QUOTE(lordie @ Oct 8 2008, 12:00 PM) practice... 4 fingers is uber cool if u can make it happen. usually i play with 3 fingers if the song is super speedy. if its extremely speedy i will use a pick lol wtf cheater hahahaha! anyway, i think to get the notes out evenly (for me) is using 2 fingers. i find that when i play with the 3rd one together, it tends to get uneven. i guess thats due to lack of practice. but four fingers!! haha really out of my league |

i guess u can use different techniques for different people. after all we are all not built the same arent we? different people use different techniques to compensate for playing style, physical build up and even according to their equipment. so i guess u cant really say which technique or fingerstyle is better. some 2 fingers could be faster then 4 fingers. |

QUOTE(Mythras231 @ Oct 9 2008, 04:03 PM) Anyone of you learn bass yourself ? Or read the books for dummies ? Whats scale and whats fingering anyway ? I wanna know which word is for the Fast Finger play style ... Just like the vid I gave xD actually, i learnt bass myself n from playing in church.amateur level at the moment. havent read much books. just play by ear n feel. fingering / scales are technical aspects of it. u need to get some basic music theory first. |

QUOTE(Mythras231 @ Oct 9 2008, 05:26 PM) LOL...My friend never get lessons but he just read books and ''feel'' the guitar ... Now he can ply as well as a pro ... haha ... Music theory ? Theory for fingerings ? haha then i guess your friend has plenty of talent.i only have noobish skills. play so long, but no improvement music theory about scales n stuff. fingerings actually are just recommendation to which finger should be for which note. its just an idea, not a hard n fast rule. |

QUOTE(eq8all @ Oct 10 2008, 08:04 AM) I don't care how young she is but yeah she's getting to be one of those must watch out for player should she choose to be. Her style's bit "busy" (then again which aspiring and established J-player who's not? lol) but tastefully done, cool notes and stops' choices. She knows when to dig in that's for sure. I'm betting she keeps a regular weekly self practice at the very least. Keep her vids coming bro. Entertaining stuff it is. yep its true. she / he is pretty good.those basslines are typical of japanese songs. they seem to play a whole lot more notes. but thats their style, and their dimension of playing is a whole lot nicer than the stuff u hear on pop songs. there is a sad but true feeling that she's a guy. no boobs, no face, her hands are covered? usually its hard to play with hands covered like that, but its like purposely to hide those big hands / arms too. anyway just hope i'm wrong, for my imaginations sake |

QUOTE(Mythras231 @ Oct 11 2008, 02:11 PM) So you mean I can st8 away learn bass ? Other than going to start from Acoustic ? of course u can ler. just that u have to start from the basics only lor.Any bassist can help me ''decode'' this song into notes ? if u learn abit of guitar, it will help u when u learn the bass. this is coz they're kinda similiar in the theory. so that will help u. but playing style n all, thats different. same thing for the bass. if u learn bass first, then go guitar, then u have some knowledge and it will help u pick it up fast. style still different. so in the end the same thing. bout the song, maybe i can help u. but i have to go out. just came back to bathe. maybe someone else can help |
