ah okay. I have same problem too  laugh.gif

mine is attached to the base and I see that it can be moved behind so I'll try that when I get a compatible allen key (?)

Anyway, for your case, try ask Merryfair if they have another compatible arm rest or not or other solutions for your case

I personally dislike the mesh seat also, they say can change seat for a fee, but I would rather sell it and get another chair.

sell it is then, but tbh, you may want to relook into the table as the Wau's armrest is quite far from your feet meaning your next chair may have the same issue also.

Yea, in a sense. Because the arm rest is -45degree, the taller you are, the further forward the arm rest is, which is the problem, I think.

Anyway, I probably get one without arm rest/ detachable arm rest.

you are currently sitting with the armrest in parallel with the table's surface height or prefer it to be beneath the table (so that only elbows are on the armrest)?

most ergonomic position is to have almost of your whole arm on the armrest with your back against the backrest. you would still need to move either side of your arm away from the armrest while typing with two hands. unless you are typing almost 70-80% of the time with minimal mouse usage, then do look for a swivel armrest, have them both position inwards and reposition the keyboard centred to your sitting position.

essentially it depends on how comfortable your posture has been and if the prolonged sitting from say work from home had caused additional stress or not. if you've been sitting in an improper posture, getting it back to a more ergonomic may cause some pain before you get used to this new sitting position.

that goes for the mesh too, it is airy and technically more clean when you fart. but it can be painful to certain people over long period.

do look out for these points in your next chair purchase.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am more inclined to TPE/Plastic chair from Merryfair.

Have to take a trip to try in their showroom.

Hey all, since there are plenty of discussions about chairs lately maybe due to work from home or whatsoever. Regardless, let's consolidate all available sellers, chair reviews, questions, comments, suggestions all under on thread for easier references in the future!

Please share the chairs that you are using, where you buy and all the comments are welcomed so that future consumers can make better and informed decisions! Since chairs are getting pretty expensive these days as well!

MORE INFORMATION WELCOME!

Not sure which one they have in MY.
The one I tested at the showroom I’m not too sure which kind of fabric was it but I chose the one with Balance fabric, extra 30k yen option (~rm1.2k).
I think there’s like 4-5 fabric type to choose from

Still waiting for it to arrive but after it arrives on Sunday, I can feedback on the Balance fabric for 16+ hours working in non AC condition laugh.gif

On the other hand, I was also looking for Haworth Fern, I think similar to the Embody but a lot cheaper here, but couldn’t find any showroom to test. Only have herman Miller and ergohuman here, and the most comfy for home use is the Embody IMO

Yea, in JP. Too bad I don’t live in big cities (Tokyo, Osaka, etc.), so it’s really very hard to find showrooms for office chair

Not sure whether Trax bangsar have multiple options for the fabric plus the ultra long wait time for the chair

thinking to change my normal high back office chair cause i am getting neck and arm strain and sometimes back ache. tried to adjust my chair arm rest(its a fixed type) to table height so my arm can rest nicely on it but the chair keep decline after a day.

been looking at few brands like ttracin and tomaz but since i am not able to try them, i am having hard time deciding which to get. although secretlabs titan does look promising from reviews. expensive though. many does suggest ikea markus but the arm rest is not adjustable so not sure if it suits me.

i am around 185cm. can recommend me a comfy chair with good quality where i dont need to replace after a year or 2 of use? i am not using ac so need to be mesh or fabric.

or should i just fork out the money and get the secretlab titan which cost rm1800+ ?
