Not new. Been in the market since 2018. I have also tried it during early 2020 in ikea.

I think this is a very interesting read. Gives me a different perspectives about Gaming chairs, I always thought that they are pretty bad ergonomically but it doesn't seem so!
It is as good as it gets, of course incomparable with the true ergonomical chair but still pretty good!

i am considering the following three models:

1) Amoffice - Fennel Mesh Chair Highback - RM712
https://shopee.com.my/AM-Office-Fennel-Mesh...7639.3432016561

2) Alterseat - DT330 Prime - RM699
https://www.alterseat.com/products/dt-330

3) Merryfair - Anggun - RM660
https://merryfairstore.com/product/1/anggun

anyone can suggest me which one to go for?

thanks.

Was comparing real hard between Merryfair and Alterseat due to the warranty. Merryfair 5 years warranty on the chair mechanism but not include wear and tear of cushion and sunken seat. However Alterseat cover these and its 10 years warranty somemore. I was quite surprised that Alterseat covered even wear and tear.

in the end, i chose Anggun as the WhatsApp customer care contact gave me additional 20% discount. So i got the chair with headrest at RM528, which i think it's a pretty good deal. Furthermore, i will be using this at home, not office. WFH will probably be temporary and at most until mid of 2021, so the chair will most likely be in good condition even after 5 years. Another plus is the design which i quite like the honey orange cushion and grey mesh compared to all black office chair design tongue.gif

chair will arrive in 10 days, hopefully it will be a good one. will update again by then. icon_rolleyes.gif

I have and always recommend steelcase chairs

Steelcase Leap - 2.5k~ ish.
Steelcase Think - 2k~ish

Price may change

I have sat extensively on both chair for long hours due to WFH. They are very comfortable and provide good support.
Material quality is awesome. I have the Leap for 2.5 years and it is still like new.

when choosing the chair, always look for best back support and ergonomically. comfortable doesn't mean you will get a back support

some people condemn gaming chair but little did they know the back support is important there

I won’t ever buy an ikea office chair, not for something that i’ll be sitting on for endless hours on a daily basis, it’s an investment on your self, your health and ergonomics.

I always laugh at young people(my peers) who say why so young need this and that, when they fail to realise the internal damage is done, just they’re not feeling it yet.

Anyway, i got a herman miller chair for 4-5k, not bothered to remember the model name, but it’s heavy as shit, with high quality mesh back and some really breathable solid feeling cushion as seat, upgraded the wheels with “roller-blade” style wheel so i can roll from my working area to dry kitchen then toilet at lightspeed

Not everyone is as rich as you la bro.. 4-5k is more than my monthly salary

I just got myself the steelcase series 2 for rm1800(proudly made in puchong) after a 2 months waiting period (initially im going to order the Leap as it's supremely comfortable, but that doesn't have a mesh back and I don't like how the Think looks like), replacing my 6 months old Marcus (I didn't get any discomfort sitting on the Marcus for > 10 hours though)
Marcus's mesh back has more give but Series2 has got a lot more adjustments to make sure my lumbar area is always supported
Marcus' seat cushion feels softer and plushier compared to Steelcase's

Side note: anyone looking for a 6months old fabric Marcus can PM me smile.gif

Where did you all get your Steelcase? Can I have the shop name or GPS please?
I would like to go and try. Am hunting for a good chair after the really horrible experience I have with a certain shop.
Don't they get hot since they are not really mesh? I find fully mesh one really comfortable I think.

Am looking these chairs also from Evis.com.my
Any reviews or comments? But crazy expensive.

In some cases, what you say is correct. I understand your pov and many of my friends give the same feedback. But i want to point out that so many people can spend 2-3k on a phone that last them… at most 4 years to play some games and surf /k fb tiktok. Even a budget phone cost 1k and these crap out in 3 years max. But when talking about 2k on a chair that lasts 10 years, sorry no thanks i already have a (crap) chair.

Why not look from a different perspective. Good chairs are expensive and you pay for what you get. Steelcase also have cheaper option that is the Steelcase Lets B which goes for low RM1xxx

I got the steelcase leap and isn't pocket change. I saved hard for it. The Think chair is my office standard issue chair. I did not spend a cent on it.

zenpro has a showroom in kelana jaya, their factory's in sg buloh
I bought the series 2 without trying it on though, but I read the review that it's quite similar to the Think (of which I've tested and liked), I don't turn on aircond at home a lot so I decided to forgo the Leap
good thing about steelcase is if you get the made in Malaysia one, you can customize the color combination without adding too much onto the lead time

if you really wanted to indulge, pay XTRA mid valley a visit and try on their Okamura Contessa 2, the seat cushion is supremely comfortable

I splurge on a better chair hoping that it could save me some trips to the Chiro, if it saves me a few trips to the Chiro the chair essentially paid for itself already smile.gif

The Okamura looks nice but no headrest. sad.gif And it doesn't seem to be so adjustable from what I can see from the website.
WOW! They can even customise steelcase? I should just go to their S.Buloh factory maybe. So you just called them and ordered online or something?

Errr.. nope. I don't see why I would go and try that model cause what I want from a chair is different. xD
But everyone's body is different, you should try if you could to see if it's comfortable for you.

Huh, I just realised Steelcase Leap cannot be tilted back based on the YT videos I saw, seems limited tilt. Can anyone confirm? That's out of my choice already then. doh.gif
