Remember structure extension or additional structure you need to get approval first. Most landed property owner don't apply for approval, because most of the time penbandaran just close one eye as long as there is no complaint.

if dah tau, rainwater splash to neighbor house, and neighbor ada bising, some action need to be done fast to retify the problem. she took too long to do something about it. if it was done in a month, two or three, am sure, she won't face this issue with others, or bandaraya.

i guess the warning issued at least in the span of 6 months
and they will charge the owner for the demolition cost
been there done that to my neighbours, with mbpp and mbpj
and usually they are accompanied by police

awning demolition is just easy, imagine its if it is illegal extension of the kitchen to the neighbour's land
they will come in and partially demolish your walls and charge you at full cost
then you will need to pay for the full demolition + renovation again asap
or live with no kitchen and risk rain damaging your equipement

if the renovation is not problematic or no complaints at start
or they pay the paneities and fix the problems
then town council won't use such measure

yes dey can if dey got court order, and it look like dey have court order as the aunty lost in court.

all council not so free lah to go tear down every extension that does not have approval.
they know the backlash will be too great to bear and some of them may live in the same area so their safety is a concern.
only when got complain they will take action and once they get court order then you know how aggressive they will get.
