Yeah. Its a conclusion I came to based on anecdotal experience dealing with MBPJ. Illegal reno, nuisance to neighbour, deserve to be torn down. And if MBSJ is anything like MBPJ its really the last avenue for them and they will have covered their bases legal wise

I wont side her though, just be courteous and consult with your neighbour when you are doing reno and you wont have this problem. If she bothered to apply for approval the officer would also have pointed out the flaw in her awning. Literally plenty of ways to go about it. That was my main point in the post. If its true about the illegal entry, she can take it up to court. My opinion wont affect her court case either way

local councils know they can't handle everything, getting a permit / approval also takes forever so they one eye open one eye close jer.

If management not strict enough, those noisy kids screaming and playing in condo corridor or put stuffs/plants/smelly garbage partially blocking access in your condo corridor/door.

Uhh ok, not that i disagree with you but do explore getting a permit/approval. Standard MBPJ plans are very quick. Customised plans take longer but with the right consultant can be pushed thru. Else you can start first while waiting for the approval if you're confident it is coming. Just get a permit/approval. Trust me, less aggravation for you should you sell
