1D3 or 1Ds3?

Talking about countering back, I heard that CANON Desperate to win over the competition so they are like making last minute changes to their just released models. My local retailer told me they stop taking in Canon Powershot S5IS cos they heard Canon might be releasing a POwershot S7 IS Soon and Powershot G9. This is what I was told......

what does prosumer has to do with DSLR?

Nothing. Just that they seem desperate in their attempts to sway the news/hoo-haah back to their side by re-releasing models which are still new. If the news are to be believed to begin with. Even though its from different classes of cameras..

So since you mentioned a 41D or the like replacement for the 40D. HEY, They just might do it......

I think a lot of people got confused. When you buy an EOS, you are not buying the camera alone. You are buying the whole EOS systems. From the lens till the battery pack.

If we compare specs on paper, i think even a normal point and shoot may outshine any Canon EOS DSLR. Any the image quality depends a lot of the lens quality, not just the camera.

Therefore, before you buy any DSLR, think whether you will want to be serious into it. If you forever just use the kit lens, I think you should start with an used DSLR like the D70 or the EOS 350D.

This weekend there's Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival held in Berjaya Times Square. Admission is free. Rumor is that the newly announcement products on dpreview will be previewed there.

Yes, the new 40D & 1DsMk III will be displayed there.

Damn. Many ppl pressuring me to sell off my 30D. They waiting at my wings like vultures ready to tear onto a fresh corpse. I just got mine bro, maybe you go ahead and sell yours, then get the 40D or 1dMkIII then give me a review . But I can only think of an upgrade to the 40D only, if I'm worthy of it to begin with.....


Yes, those 2 lenses as well as the brand new, uber expensive, EF 14mm F2.8 L mkII.

But I think it won't be dominated by EOS ONly. The new Powershot G9 should make an apperance. And maybe a POwershot S7 IS Suprise???

I'm going to be there tomorrow.... because I've sold my 30d last Sunday with the anticipation of 40D.....

Hopefully, they're selling some 40D.... otherwise... I'm heading to KL Plaza...

i was playing with the G9... i am looking at this camera. well, my friend is interested actually, and i am helping him 'checking' on this camera.

when i was playing with this camera, non of the sales dare to come near me... weird... maybe they dunno anything about cameras... except for the more senior person like george...

40D dont even have a 1 nanosecond not being touched by a person. couldnt get a chance to hold it myself.

Same here..Every time I visit Canon Both..there always have some holding that camera....
I don't see any G9..maybe my attention only on 40D..

I was really early and the 1st one playing the 40D without anyone around. Look like a very good camera indeed. Not sure about AF speed because of kit lens used. Big lcd is nice and live view is great. I can imagine myself using it mostly for macro.... I think it is more solid feel when holding it comparing with 30D.

Not sure about AF accuracy either since can only review on the camera lcd.... For me, I want it but nobody selling... they say maybe launch next week. I went to pudu plaza at Desmond place. One 40D greyset was there but already reserved. End up buying bg-e2 to be used on 40D....

have you try the 40D liveview feature, i feel that not very good to use.

saw the 40D. didnt really care about this liveview feature to be honest... liveview to me is like those 'soh kuah' camera only.

but no doubt, 3 inches is HUGE!
