But that's why Mikel's building the kinda squad he is right? In case a massive offer comes for any starting CB, a replacement is readily available in the squad & there's no need to then go look for a replacement when the entire world knows a new CB is needed at that point. Also, realistically the club might very well have to sell a superstar player in demand to balance the books in order to enable subsequent unrestricted spending in other areas of need.
Saliba quite literally just extended for another 5 years..... Sell Saliba then Mosquera becomes the starting CB, who although has been good when needed, is still a young prospect that from time to time shows that he still has lot of room to grow from his inexperience, and is in no way going to be fully capable to take on the responsibilities of the starting cb of the best defence in the PL..
and when Mosquera gets injured then what? He's literally the cover for our starting CB and now you want the cover to be the starting cb? Hence what i said.
We have a very good team and are in a very good position to be in as a squad right now, but its freaking delulu and kind of idiotic to be so snobbish to think we could just let Saliba go like he's no longer important part of our squad and we could easily seek a quality replacement for him..
There's a world of difference between no longer being scared and still being able to feel confident that Saliba's absence wont hurt us, but its a whole nother level of insane to think Saliba is disposable..
I would not even sell Saliba for 150m. 150m cannot get you another Saliba in the market.
