Don't think it's way better based on his test on PS5. Just slightly. I watched his review before making decision on buying the one with heatsink. Price difference is just a mere USD9 vs the non heat sink version.

Your video is broken.

You gotta remember you're in MY. Your ambient temps are way higher than what other foreigners in cooler countries test in.

Well obviously Im not an Iphone user lol. Got no apple product. Which is why I hate it when they force me to put the credit card info. Its a scummy practice to steal from customer, in case people forgot to cancel.
*
It's scummy, but you consumers gotta understand it's also a 2 way street. Apple is a business, not a charity. Why would they give you something for free and not getting anything in return? That's the opposite of what a business does.

Also, you can manage your account with iTunes on windows. Don't tell me you don't have a Windows PC. sweat.gif

I'm looking to get the Kingston KC3000 & PNY Heatsink combo as well. What sort of speeds do you get for the KC3000? Also, do you install the heatsink on KC3000's heatspreader?
*
Speed I got was 6853Mb/s, 2TB version.

I installed the PNY heatsink over the sticker heat spreader of the drive. Do not remove that sticker, that voids the warranty of the drive. Furthermore removing the sticker doesn't add any benefits to better cooling.

That's pretty fast for the 2TB. Looking for the best cooling solution since I don't have AC on all the time.
*
Doesn't really make a difference as long as it's over 5500MB/s.

Best cooling for NVME heatsink on the PS5 is the Graugear HS01. But next to impossible to find locally and pretty difficult to get too on Amazon.

PNY and Sabrent heatsinks are fairly easy to find, works more than well enough.

kc3000 not comes with proper heatsink

doh.gif

Uhm duh? That's why you buy an aftermarket heatsink for it like the PNY or Sabrent PS5 heatsinks. What were you even reading?

I also forgot to mention one big benefit of the KC3000 over every other NVME SSDs on the market out there: Kingston rates their NVME SSD storage using the 10/6 calculation of megabytes, meaning if you buy a 1TB drive from them you actually get the FULL 1024GB of storage space AFTER formatting instead of the 930 GB you get with other drives on the market as they rate theirs using the 2/20 mebibyte calculation.

Considering the KC3000 is about the same price as a Aorus 7000s, not only you get a FASTER drive (because Kingston customizes the Phison E18 controller), you also get the actual capacity you paid for instead of one that's artificially inflated due to age old megabytes marketing.

Your choice.

Gamelists = folders.

....

But in the wrong place. Because you can only create the folders in your Collections tab, not on the homescreen itself. doh.gif

And 1440p doesn't support VRR. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

1 of the reason i reluctant to buy PS5...  no time to play, stay in box for god knows when i'm gonna open sweat.gif

Don't buy.

Everything on PS5 will be on PC, and will play better on PC.

I've not touched my PS5 for over 7 months already. Never happened to any console I've owned before.

i will still buy... that's when PS5 pro is out. time doesn't matter as i'm still happy with my PS4 pro. i'm no longer a PC gamer as i'm a married man with kids, can't keep up with better upgrade forever. Console is better for me as it's hassle free, it's just matter of when it's gonna break down.
*
Fair enough. As long as you can still enjoy your hobby, that's good.

Managed to get KC3000 for around Rm490 (after conversion) in AU. Looking at the past discussion, either PNY or Sabrent (Link) heatsink is advisable?
*
Both are good. Get whichever you find cheaper.

Finallt got a 2TB KC3000 and PNY heatsink combo. I got a around 6500Mb/s which is fine with me. Also, that full 2.05 tb is nice too. Thanks for the recommendation.
*
Anything over 6500MB/s is margin of error territory. Seems like a bandwidth overhead issue on the PCIE-4.0 link Sony uses in the PS5, not that it really matters of course.

Was hoping they move to hall effect sensors for the analog sticks on the Edge.

But nah instead, Sony: "our customers are suckers, why not milk them by selling replacement analog modules?".

US already paying higher than most countries to begin with because the prices shown are not inclusive of tax which is different for every state.

Lol the price hike is due to other manufacturers increasing prices too. Ever thought about that instead of just spouting nonsense?

TSMC - https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Tech/Semic...lation-concerns

Micron - https://www.astutegroup.com/resources/suppl...d-flash-prices/

Texas Instruments - https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20220720PD2...ments-tsmc.html

Easy for consumers to say Sony is greedy without knowing the actual cost of manufacturing. rolleyes.gif

Just accept that DualSense is a consumable. There's no real fix, you can replace the entire POTs itself, but that POTs will still wear out in the future anyways. Any solution is not a solution, because it's simply a consumable.

If Sony made the sticks easy to replace, I’ll just assume the entire potentiometer to be a consumable and replace it like how one would replace a filter for their air purifiers.

But nope, this is hard and tedious.
Ifixit rated this as very difficult.

I’d rather just buy a new one and that’s what I’ve been doing (bought my 4th dual sense a few months ago).
*
They're doing it with the Edge.

And yes you gotta buy a new one, hence I said the entire controller is simply a consumable. Inb4 they increase the price of DualSense too.

Yup, even I've spoken to Sony AU about the drifting issue and their first recommendation to me is simply replacing the entire controller.

Sometimes buying a new controller and use until it is broken is a more viable option.
*
Would be great if Sony offers 2 year warranties on their controllers. But that would go against their hypocrisy of "for the gamers" moniker. whistling.gif

Ironic ain't it when people say PC gaming is expensive and console gaming is cheap?
