Im a new user on PS5 Slim Digital, put the unit vertically to save space.

I encountered this overheat issue twice recently.

The flow is like this.
I usually play around 2 hours of Diablo 4 HoV gameplay, and then run AstroBot for my daughter to play. Then the message will pop up after few minutes playing AstroBot.

When I restart the PS5 and ran AstroBot again; the message no longer pop up. But when continue to play for like 20-30 minutes, PS5 will just force shut down by itself.

this happened in both condition:
1. Afternoon day time with or without aircond
2. Night time mostly fine with aircond - but happened once without aircond

in between, i put a small fan to help the PS5 ventilation by blowing it from the front; but still the overheat message popped up.

any lights to solve this issue?

hmm... same thing here that I did remove the panels and try to check for dust but it is pretty much clean.

maybe I try to put it horizontally, but my current desk setup not optimized for that.

never had any issue with my phat PS4.
bought it home in end May 2024.

they said its the overheating on PS5 is a common issue, be it OG or slim version.

checked the estimated needed time, they said around 1-2 weeks; but now year end is considered peak.

so, better to send in early Jan 2025.

It'll be a time to quit gaming and just watch people game on YouTube instead.

old timers would be a good time to retire anytime soon, or just switch physical copy instead of rely on digital copy.

just want to confirm, if i bought the slim disc drive from US, can it be used for our MY consoles as well or is there gonna be any restrictions?

I got active in playing PS5 games ever since I bought my first PS5 Pro back in Nov 2024. Before this was on PS4 Pro since 2017.

I only buy games that are super discounted. Cannot afford to buy newly released games that cost about RM250++ 

First game I played was Demons Souls and took me 5 months to play until NG+3 using Knight build.
now I got crazy playing Battlefield 2042 online with CrossPlay function OFF (don't want to play against PC players, they got the advantage of pin point accuracy using kbm), play using custom servers in Portal mode. Almost every night play LEL.

i need to move on with BF2042 and perhaps move to Far Cry 6 next.
