Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 7000s may be the cheapest ssd as of time of writing for the ps5
Nothing official yet so just quoting what I read. So let's just wait for more products to be announced and officially confirmed.

Gigabyte Aorus 7000s 1TB selling for rm968 in Lazada with heat sink. Is this brand the lowest price at the moment?

The lowest I saw was around RM960. Not much difference. Make sure you buy from authorised dealer / distributor and not grey import for full 5Y warranty though. And of coz, hope you get it before scalpers start buying them up.

Updated benchmark from nascompares for the 7000s if anybody is still on the fence. Virtually indistinguishable from the internal
ssd.

*
yeah, I think I know which one you saw.

I even found one being sold for RM800 (RM799.99), for 1 TB and written there 5 years local warranty. Some customers have bought other items from that shop.
Not sure if it's legit but the pricing catches my attention. Just have to be careful.

So have you decided to purchase one ?

It's out of stock already during 8/8, that's why it no longer shows up in normal search. Bought from here.

RM999 is SRP since it's sold by Gigabyte official store, so anything less is a discount, and anything more is scalper price already.

A quick search on Lazada: Brightstar Computer selling it for RM954 and same shop at Shopee too

Disclaimer: buy at your own risk at any of these links ya whistling.gif
*
Brightstar Computer also have a store in shopee.

I simply texted the store asking for rm900. Guess what, he said OK but must bank in directly to their company account. Made me think i should have asked for lower price..lol.

The store definitely looks legit.

I asked him if purchase more than 1 unit got further discount (thinking of a group buy), he said no. I can share the chat conversation with anyone of you who are interested.

Again, when dealing outside proper channel there is always an element of risk. So go...or no go..you guys decide.

Price RM900 does not include shipping.

if it brings you a little peace of mind, I have bought my 3080 from nvidia official store which is actually supplied by brightstar computer, so they are definitely legit. they can offer lower prices if you bank in directly since they do not have to pay shopee or lazada fees, and you also have the option to choose your preferred delivery if not mistaken.
*
Ah..ok.. that's reassuring. thanks man.

Nice. Yeah he told me the same thing will post tomorrow. Rm910 also or better?  tongue.gif

Same price. Rm910.

What do you plan to do with the SSD when you receive it? I think there's nothing much we can do until Sony releases the official firmware right? Beta is not open for our region.

I always like watching his videos. He brought up some very good points and good explanation there.

and he has access to all the latest and most expensive tech.. he popped in a 4TB Firecuda 530 into his PS5, that's a high end SSD, the numbers you see on the paper for this SSD exceed all other SSDs in the market today, and it's worth almost double the cost of a PS5 itself.

Just a question, is it possible to switch between two displays with HDMI 2.1 without having to manually plug and unplug the cable. Thinking of a 48CX and a 1080P high refresh rate monitor for different kinds of games or just a GP950 alone.
*
Not sure why no one has invented a low cost solution for this. You can get some low cost 4K@30Hz, serious? splitter from shopee but that's just rubbish.

An expensive solution is this.

HD Fury Integral 2

or

HD TV Supply

Yea I know of HdFury ..unfortunately at those price points itโ€™s better to manual switch HDMI cables LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚
*
Agreed - manual is the only option until some top tier manufacturers from China i.e. UGreen starts producing them, wonder why they haven't or I'm not aware of.

You can also try Rocketfish Model: RF-G1603. Retailing at USD70, maybe you can get it cheaper or look for some refurbished ones at Amazon or ebay.

But this splitter only supports 1080p @ 120 Hz and 4K @ 60Hz which should be good enough I believe.

My PS5 disc drive make weird noise and now not working anymore eventhough i hardly play disc game.

Anybody got the same problem?

Where to send for warranty?
*
Claiming warranty has been discussed recently before. You may use the search feature of this forum for the place to send your console to . You're in luck as I believe electronic stores are allowed to open tomorrow onwards. I sent my controller which was suffering from left analog stick drifting to Sony Centre at The Curve eventhough I didn't purchase from them. No problem as long it's MY official set.

So you got your controller back already?
*
I called Sony Curve twice during the past almost 3 months they said that a new controller is ready but due to mco their centre is closed. I don't blame them. Lucky I have a spare controller. I might follow up this coming week as chances are I should be able to collect it soon.

Already received my Gigabyte Aorus 7000s Gen4.

Unfortunately, I've still not received any news from Sony on the beta firmware testing program.

So I can't do anything much but to wait. Eager to test this card out.

*
Nope, nothing. Already 1 week. Most likely i'm not selected but still keeping fingers crossed.
Beta or official firmware, I just need it fast.
I do not have enough storage to download next month's PS+ games.

I might delete this month's games, I don't really like Plants vs Zombies and Hunter's Arena.

How long does Sony want to test their beta SSD firmware?

I think it should be good to release it officially.

I need the extra storage fast, now!

I was playing hitman 2 on my ps5. Destination Mumbai.

Just for the fun of it, I went on a shooting rampage from a watch tower killing tons of guards until the corpses started piling up. I immediately noticed that the FPS started dropping even after moving away from that scene.

Not sure of the reason.

But it was fun.. going against the AI and see how it reacts!
