got to agree with all the above. my friend xs still at 91% considering him using phone while charging and main hentam saja, while my 12 pm at 94% within less than a year. battery life is frustrating.
*
Yet some people think, we shouldn't be concerned.... As far as I can recall, XS didn't have good battery life right?

Hi, want to ask Iphone 12 pro max used for 9 months, now battery health is 92%.

It this consider normal? Will my battery health drop too fast?
*
91% now after almost 10 months of usage. Dropped to 99% in early April and it never stops dropping since then. laugh.gif
My first iPhone but based on the comment here, it is not normal as other series drops slower compared to iPhone 12 series.

Is there anyone officially complained to Apple? I think we need more Americans to make noise. laugh.gif

QUOTE(BetaBee(@-@) @ Sep 3 2021, 05:21 PM)
Same with your situation  sad.gif
When dropped to 99%, then i checked my battery status often then found out almost one week plus will drop 1%.
Luckily now is maintain at 92%, don't know when will drop again.

1. No overnight charge  shakehead.gif
2. seldom charged till 100% shakehead.gif
3. maintain battery around 80%++
4. Never let my battery use below 40%

Battery health still drop cry.gif
*
Yes, 1 week 1%. laugh.gif My case was it stopped quite long at 94% almost a month then suddenly dropped to 92% in one week. doh.gif
And now another 1% in almost two weeks. I'm giving up already. laugh.gif

You have better practice compared to me, I don't care anymore now. laugh.gif

Yeah, I don't seem to recall it was as bad as this. I search Macrumors forum and there were threads about battery health then but there weren't any traction. Only isolated cases and most probably user issues. Not for the iPhone 12 series though...it's serious business  sweat.gif

Mine drop to 88% already.
*
Woot below 90% already. laugh.gif

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 4 2021, 11:04 AM)
1 week 1% quite serious le. Suspect either a battery bug or a software bug.

I’m at 94% since early November last year.
*
But I’m not alone though..

QUOTE(fxgamerbah @ Sep 4 2021, 11:29 AM)
Lol 2021 still got ppl so serious about battery health drop.
*
Yeah, because we are poor act rich what. You forgot already? Nothing better else to contribute then please keep this comment to yourself. I have seen you trolling around here and either you stop doing it or off from the forum.

I noticed this function no longer works on many apps: https://support.apple.com/en-my/guide/iphon...phc89a3a3af/ios
I have to manually input now.

Is it due to any new enhancements on iOS 14 that I’m not aware about?

Mine seems to still work fine on most of the apps. Only occasionally it doesn't detect the code from SMS, or when it does, it detects the 5 digit "phone number" instead.  confused.gif
*
Mine not though. Not sure if those apps also did some changes and caused they can’t read from SMS. hmm.gif

QUOTE(dikae @ Sep 4 2021, 03:51 PM)
Same as my wife’s 12Promax, she also give up...her case should be more critical as she rarely use the phone and the batt health continue to drop..and rarely use means she only check on WhatsApp maybe 2–3 times a day..morning once, afternoon once, and night...only WhatsApp not even any social media or safari lol..coz it’s not her primary phone....yet batt health still drop about 1% per 1-2 weeks... doh.gif she sort of gave up already coz there’s no answer/solution to it.. biggrin.gif can’t imagine if that’s her primary phone lol
*
Yeah, your wife’s situation is really unexplainable. rclxub.gif At least I still use it and it’s my primary phone.

YES! i do get this issue occasionally, sometime it works sometime it doesn't. It's like u need to give it a certain amount of time before u proceed to press the pop up number then it works. Don't press it right away when it pop up. But even then also it doesn't work all the time. Sometime the number doesn't even pop up at all. I really hope they fix this. biggrin.gif
*
I noticed it’s happening very often recently and made me thinking if Apple did something that causes these apps no longer able to read from SMS?

I read your "hopefully won't be attracted for iPhone 13" and LOLed! I personally feel we're halfway to getting a new phone, with such a thought/hope.  laugh.gif
I told myself that I don't need the iPhone 13, but each time my XS Max lag for even a second, I'd wonder if I should replace it.  doh.gif
Like i13 can replace my i12PM (personal) which in turn replace the XSM...  shakehead.gif And ya, then there's the iPad Mini if it really comes this time with the bigger screen, I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist further.
Well, let's see what happens next week.  thumbsup.gif
*
laugh.gif It is difficult to say until it comes. tongue.gif Most likely I won't be getting iPhone 13 because iPad is still my priority this round and I can only choose to buy one. tongue.gif
Good luck to you and hopefully you cannot resist. tongue.gif

I have iPad but already too old for today's standard - iPad Mini 2. laugh.gif
I seldom use my iPad but I have a lot of evening meetings these days, I'm lazy to use my laptop and iPhone screen is also kinda small to see PPT slides. tongue.gif I can attend meetings on my old iPad Mini 2 but it lags sometimes.
Oh October? sad.gif

Wahhh  shocking.gif ur tolerance is next level sis! I am super happy with my ipad mini 5 bought last year and used it for gaming and netflix all those stuff altho im using a 12 pro max, reli not big difference the extra 1.3" but having mini 5 and walking around for notes is all smooth......i was using ipad mini 4 and i cant even stand the heating issue, quite laggy and the battery drain and u telling me ipad mini 2.....salute to u weii....but yea, mini  5 is no doubt an absolute beast in its class but i badly need the design of ipad pro slim bezel on mini size which im anticipating in mini 6  rclxm9.gif
*
I know right. laugh.gif Actually I like that iPad Mini 2 a lot, it doesn't have any issue for normal usage. Watching movies and series is OK but I can't stand it when I watch online broadcast and attend meetings.
Also the bezel is an eyesore to me these days. tongue.gif

Time for a new one I reckoned. laugh.gif

nothing beats the clarity of voice call from apple airpods series whether its airpods 2 or pro.....Sony's one tend to muffle, same goes to Jabra, only airpods one actually sounds clearer than u speaking from the phone itself imo  thumbup.gif
*
Yeah, I used to have Jabra ones and sound quality I cannot differentiate it with AirPods Pro but for voice clarity, AirPods wins hands down. I'm using it on daily basis now for meetings.

iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max? Who’s upgrading from 12? laugh.gif

I’m skipping this round and will be getting iPad Mini instead. Apple heard my prayer and announced new iPad Mini today. tongue.gif

The price jump from the previous gen Mini is rather steep though. RM300 more gets you the larger iPad Air - that is unless you really want the mini size smile.gif
*
iPad Air is not as good as Mini. tongue.gif
Yeah, I prefer Mini size for portability purpose.

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 15 2021, 09:21 AM)
I didn't stay up to watch, so will have to go round reading this morning.  laugh.gif

Upgrading? Easier decision for me since I'm one of those primary and secondary phones user; just push the primary for an upgrade and the secondary will follow. BUT... ya, I should go read-look first. Not much difference will mean a shorter read.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Then it is easier for you. laugh.gif

Ya, I just read it's using the A15 vs the A14 of the Air so I suppose that justifies the bump in price. There's also 5G on the Mini but that's not a thing yet for now.
*
The price is too steep for me to even consider Cellular version this round though my current Mini 2 is a cellular version. laugh.gif

QUOTE(silencer5089 @ Sep 15 2021, 10:35 AM)

Yes, most likely.

Anyway, sorry to derail the thread. iPad Mini 6 discussion is here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=5195009

who's going to update to 13 series? wondering after all these months we talk about battery health on 12 series, might be a good choice to upgrade
*
I haven’t fully utilized my 12PM yet especially the camera feature which was the main reason I got an iPhone. laugh.gif So, I’m skipping iPhone 13 and will upgrade next year. Hopefully my battery health won’t be 60 by then but I should have changed to a new battery when it touches below 80. laugh.gif

Anyway, since I will still need to keep the phone another year and thinking to get a new case. Earlier posts were talking about ESR case so I’m getting one too, the black colour. biggrin.gif

which ESR case u gonna get?

the one they said with the magnetic one... is too slippery the behind... and still very smuggy fingerprints all over it

Hmm. Looks like mixed feedback.

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 16 2021, 04:48 PM)
This one?

https://shopee.com.my/ESR-Magnetic-Case-for...8434&position=0

I like mine so much that I've gone and order another, and also a non-Magsafe type for my 11 Pro. Just checked my 3-day old and I can't really see any bothersome fingerprint on the back... maybe because I've a carbon whatever sticker protector on my phone's back.  icon_rolleyes.gif

I personally find the rubbery quality quite good. Was worried but it's actually not that slippery as I thought. Quite nice feel. smile.gif

Even went to check for a 13PM version in case I want to get it later...
*
Yeah this one. I will buy one and test myself will grab the black one.

Don’t worry, I think should be able to maintain above 80% when iphone 14 launch…. even my XS Max is at 89% after more than 1095 days, fully used during the first 730 days, after that becoming a spare/ back up phone….

11PM is at 86% after 730 days - daily use as a main phone….

Currently my IP12PM is at 91%
*
I have no confidence with it now. laugh.gif

Mine is also 91% now in less than a year. Actually from 99-91 is only 5 months, if we follow this pace it should reduce another 16% in 10 months time. cry.gif
