QUOTE(aztoiozalan @ Nov 6 2010, 10:45 AM) poison xD Same level in terms of price?btw, beyerdynamics....all headphones have diff signatures rite....for beyer phones...which is d same level as ms1 Probably none actually...or is there... The DT440 (which I own) serves the purpose of listening to Jazz/Sopranos/Live Classical/Movie Themes kinda music...Studio rock or metal (unless those pre-85s) recordings sounds a bit harsh too my liking, which is where a Grado SR80 (which is owned by a close friend of mine living just a few blocks away) able to 'soften' out the over the top twangs and pitches...I listen to multiple genre and types of music, so if you have a tendency to lean more towards a genre, get the headphones that suits that, simply because you'll be wearing them longer than songs that you occasionally hear. QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ Nov 6 2010, 10:48 AM) Hi, I'm looking for a headphones which is below RM250 price range.. and i've came across DT 231 pro and ATH M30. Doing comparision in term of sound signature between these 2 cans. My requiremnts are : Both are closed back cans which one is targeted towards mobile travelling and the other, an entry level targeted for studio monitoring purposes. In a way both might suit your bass requirement but not so much in the comfy department. I'm not a fan of the DT231 headband design at all, so I it would be the M30 for me regardless of the sonics quality. AT seems to win in this department, but if you want the perfect one for the budget, may I suggest the Shure SRH-240...its just like RM18 above your budget, but the sounds it produces, really is serious business...1) must be comfortable and can cover whole ears, not on top of ears 2) bass must be sufficient since im listening to R&B songs most of the time, but not too much bass *I cant find much reviews on the DT231 pro on google.. most of them are reviewing the DT231, not pro |

YEAP, 250ohm is less expensive but i think 600ohm is more balance and the 880/600 phones should have diff sound sig to hd650 i believe? hd650 is cheap in msia i think?880/600 is about the same or slightly cheaper in uk.

Yes I do agree that the 600ohm version simply giving in better clarity and bass control, making it more balanced then the 250ohm.I did try them both before and the differences are pretty much noticeable at some point. However people here prefer using the DT770pro 250ohm version when comes to beyers. How lovely it is when even with a nokia 5130 it can sound great! For dt880 600ohm version you'll need a good setup to perform it at it's best.Hence a reason why most ppl didn't bother about it.
Yes the Sennheiser HD650 has different sound signature compared to DT880.It's sounds warmer, the mids are more forwarded, making it sounds "musical" compared to DT880 which is "analytic" in most cases. If you want more info about the comparison between those two, head on into this link http://www.headfonia.com/old-school-trio-a...nnheiser-hd650/ For Sennheiser HD650 the price is Rm1890 while for Beyerdynamic DT880 600ohm it will cost you back RM1500.All the price are been taken from Jaben Malaysia. @victor: indeed. lots of things change
let me draw you a picture of the stock form first: very smooth and forward mid, treble is roll off, upper bass quantity is too much and gets uncontrolled in rapid kick drum after recable: treble becomes very good, MUCH LESS roll off. mid gets a little far and not in your face, but remains smooth, hence the soundstage becomes wider and far, like real stage performance if you play live music after recable. this headphone reminds me the sound signature of hd650, but less refined.. FYI, i sucked up all the solder iron inside the headphone as well, and replace it with my favorite solder. it plays much role in the sound as well QUOTE(Hitman66 @ Nov 13 2010, 12:57 AM) Yes I do agree that the 600ohm version simply giving in better clarity and bass control, making it more balanced then the 250ohm.I did try them both before and the differences are pretty much noticeable at some point. However people here prefer using the DT770pro 250ohm version when comes to beyers. How lovely it is when even with a nokia 5130 it can sound great! For dt880 600ohm version you'll need a good setup to perform it at it's best.Hence a reason why most ppl didn't bother about it. dt880/600 is one of my favorite dynamic headphone out of only few headphones..including hd650 and uls pro2500 Yes the Sennheiser HD650 has different sound signature compared to DT880.It's sounds warmer, the mids are more forwarded, making it sounds "musical" compared to DT880 which is "analytic" in most cases. If you want more info about the comparison between those two, head on into this link http://www.headfonia.com/old-school-trio-a...nnheiser-hd650/ For Sennheiser HD650 the price is Rm1890 while for Beyerdynamic DT880 600ohm it will cost you back RM1500.All the price are been taken from Jaben Malaysia. you need serious power to pump out the thin mid becomes more thick. well, that's my opinion because i don't really like thin mids. lol nb: nobody tried dt48e here? that is one serious good sounding beyer..much better than dt880/600 This post has been edited by i_djoel2000: Nov 13 2010, 07:58 PM |
