just to take note those cheap line interactive UPS does not provide stable current to your device, only those expensive online UPS does
Yup. if your life depends on your work, i can't recommend getting a proper UPS. You might say, aiyah, save in the cloud, never mind.... later only to find out your laptop/pc also kaput
hi, can suggest me a good Full Hd monitor for this mac mini? prefer 24-27inch, budget around 800-1k.
I'm using a Viewsonic 32" (31.5") 2K monitor. Got it for RM1015 from Shopee. If you take into account the 10% coins, it's RM913.50. So far quite happy with it.
I might as well buy imac m1 instead if this monitor alone cost 3k. 🤣
Exactly, actually iMac is a better buy. If one is to buy a similar display, keyboard, touchpad etc. for Mac Mini becos the price will be rather similar. Not to mention iMac has better front camera and speakers.
i take this for example, M1 imac with 8core gpu,16gb ram, 256gb ssd= rm7249 mac mini m1 with 16gb ram, 256gb ssd= rm3799
2k monitor and keyboard with mouse, = rm1300 (roughly). Total price for mac mini with accessories only around 5.1k. Thats the main reason i went for mac mini at first place. To have that extra saving. If i were to have higher budget, imac would be the best choice lorr.

It is. The model is VX3276-2K-MHD. There's also a 4K model at about RM1500 but it wasn't IPS. Initially I wanted to go have a look at the 4K in the shop but then MCO 2.0 started so I just bought the 2K one online.

Depends on your usage also. I am sharing the monitor with my work laptop and sometimes Nintendo Switch / PS5 / Xbox. So if I buy iMac I cannot share the monitor. That's y I went for Mac mini. I am using Dell S2721QS. 4K@60Hz for around RM1416 with extended warranty. 5 years warranty in total. Although it's not meant for gaming, but everyday work and light video editing is ok. I also using dell s2721qs. It is really a good budget 4k monitor. A bit tired when looking at the screen.
Hi sifus, just wanted to check - is the Mac Mini M1 [2020] a good choice as a desktop? I already have a Lenovo Y7000 as a personal laptop but that's mainly for light gaming [Football Manager with no graphics/Match highlight settings turned on]. Just that the moment I load several leagues up [> 5 leagues], the laptop fan starts to have very loud noise and slows down considerably.
I have read some pretty good reviews on the M1 Mac Mini and was wondering if it would be a good investment? I already have a monitor, keyboard etc at home which is basically plug and play so should I take the plunge or continue to hold out for a better PC?
iMac is a bit out of my budget at the moment though.

Totally yes. Mac mini is cheap even comparing to normal windows desktop. As long as ur workflows does not rely on windows and u can do everything within macOS, it is an excellent choice.

what's your screen refresh rate ? 27" is kinda small bro... i recommend upping to 34" at least

if you ask me 2 years ago, i would say no but with the new M1 apple chip, it's damn good value for money

34" too huge, need to sit with longer distance, and more eye travel from one point to another point.
