hey guys, finally I've received my mac mini.
Just want to check , do you guys sleep your mac mini or shutdown everytime you don't use it?
I have concern on the power consumption where it has plugged to my monitor/keyboard/mouse & speaker.

Although there are many people are telling that we should always SLEEP our mac as it is better, wondering which one we should practice it ?

Overnight I’ll shut it down. If I’m going out for more than 2 hrs also I’ll shut it down. Otherwise I just leave on.

cannot and dun bother, just buy the right storage size at start.

Yes. Definitely buy the right storage size from the start if you can. Now partially regret i didnt get the 2tb size because not enough money at that time. Now only got free 200gb/1tb.

I usually just wrap it in a t-shirt and put in my backpack, so far so good laugh.gif

I used this bag. https://s.lazada.com.my/s.2fOeO
I always travel using this bag for my mac mini. Got display monitor between 2 homes. So, no need carry a monitor.

I will lock the screen and it will automatically sleep. The M1 ARM based CPU consumes very little power even during operation. So don't worry about power consumption smile.gif

I never shutdown my Macs, whether desktop/laptop.
whenever I wake up, HomeKit wakes it from sleep and it's ready to work with my previous workspace intact.
same when I go to bed, HomeKit also put all of my devices to sleep

I see, not sure if you plugged external ssd to your MM ? I see slowness on shutting down my MM with it plugged, if it gets unplugged then the shutdown will be very fast.

M1 MM itself I don't worry, I just worry my monitor/speaker power consumption..haha!

Hi guys, I am planning to get the base model of Mac mini. I watched few videos saying the Mac mini does have the Bluetooth issue pairing with Logitech mx master mouse. I do own a mx master 2s and mx keys, worry this may happen.

May I know anyone here using the same mouse and do you facing the issue?

I bought the mouse last month. no problem so far. I believe most of the bluetooth issues have been resolved.
I am connecting both keyboard and mouse using bluetooth and never faced any disconnection issue so far.

I can't say which is the right choice, that would depend on your priorities but I went for 16/256 and an external 2TB SSD.

I am fine to have external drive. Mostly I store things in the cloud. But just the ram part, I dunno I enough or not. Basically my usage is browser with around 10 tabs, Apple Music, Microsoft word and Microsoft excel on. I believe 8gb is more than enough right?

i been using 8gb with 256gb + nvme ssd on MacBook pro & mac mini m1 (same spec) for daily work and video recording and editing. so far no issue.
unless you are very heavy video editing, then go for 16GB. it is up to you . For me, since using MacBook pro for 3 years with that spec & did not encounter any issue, so I get mac mini m1 (8gb, 256gb).
Of coz mac mini is faster coz 8 core vs dual core. smile.gif

Is there any advantage having a 512gb internal ssd compared to 256gb + external ssd? What use case would be that you would need something bigger than 256gb internally?
