It looks like we have to enable "dual mode" instead of "GSM" to make/answer video calls. At the same time, people say turning on "dual mode" would reduce battery life.

I also heard people said that "dual mode" drain out the battery fast...
Phone will use more batt to try search for 3G signal..

The battery of N95 is making me go crazy. If I play with it too much, I have to charge during the night. Having to enable "dual mode" when I want to make video calls is a hassle but at the same time having it running drains out battery.

This is so tiring sad.gif

I think buying the keyboard is a waste of money. Why would we need such an expensive keyboard for a phone? Besides, the screen is so small, it's not even feasible to use a keyboard with it.

It makes more sense if we spend it on a mouse/keyboard for a notebook or PC instead.

Just my 2 cents smile.gif

I notice a couple of things:

1. If your phone is in silent (vibration) mode, you cannot silent or stop the vibration when someone calls. You can't do anything else either except to type an sms.

2. When you are making a call or when your phone rings, you cannot do anything as well. No multi-tasking or continue doing what you want.

I think both N95 and N95 8GB would still be in the market?

Prices of phones would definitely drop and phones are no doubt a value depreciating product. The N95 would continue to drop but I don't think it'll ever go below RM1K smile.gif

Btw, I read somewhere on the net that the new N95 8GB fits perfectly onto our phone. Some reviews stated that using this new battery gives great improvements. I guess I'll get one of these AP batteries when it's finally around.

The latest firmware version has some keyboard bug. It misses the key once in a while. Anyone else have the same problem?

Final Choice AP set covers LCD for 1 year if I remember correctly. That's the reason why I got their set.

This poor guy seems to have plenty of dissatisfaction about his N95:

Well, some of his points are truly valid tho'
Anyone has problems multitasking too many apps?

I notice that the equalizer, stereo widening, loudness only applies when we play a song in music player. Ringtone doesn't have the effects sad.gif

Of course it doesn't...

For ringtones, u can only apply 3D effects such as Trajectory & Reverberation.
*
Are there any programs that can apply equalizers instead? I tried that "3D" thingy and it sounds awful hmm.gif

Can you try re-booting the phone? If it doesn't work, maybe a hard reset?

Ok, I have a problem here. I used to have GMail v1.0.1 on my N95. I've formatted my memory card and forgotten that it's installed there tongue.gif Now when I try to download the latest version and install, it says "Unable to install".

How to fix this? sad.gif I tried a couple of methods but still won't work.

shah6630, great tip! I'll give it a try.

Just a feedback after sending the phone into Nokia Care Centre the LCD Screen cost RM 140 and the labour charge is RM 30 . All the parts in the housing also can be change with RM 5 to RM 40 . So total cost repairing the N95 is RM 270 ( Labour charge + LCD Screen + Back cover housing, front cover, battery cover ). My friend went to Sungai Wang and sell the phone for RM 1400 he just use it for 3 months . The Nokia the warranty already void because u drop your phone it's not the factory default. The techncian said first phone cannot be repaired because VOID the warranty. I talk to my friend give a damn to the warranty just repaired and sell the phone. So the technician fix it within 2 days. He said the mobo already bend a bit and any future problems can't claim with nokia anymore. The N95 motherboard cost almost a new phone set. So he bought a Nokia Navigator works like charm better GPS function and battery lifetime is better.
*
I gave up buying original sets because of this reason. If I drop into water/floor and damage the phone - warranty void and they can't even fix it!

I used to have a 8850 Gold which is around 2K at that time and Nokia Centre can't even repair for me after my ex dropped it into the swimming pool. The only solution they gave is to replace the whole board which is ridiculous.

I ended up at some small shops in Sg. Wang and manage to fix it for RM90 (they just changed an IC in the board). From that day onwards, it's always AP set until now smile.gif

nexus, you have to change your phone mode to "GSM only" for better battery life. Turn off the WLAN search also.
