QUOTE(hanissyazwan @ Oct 13 2007, 10:46 PM) THe N95 8GB version will be much better! improved slider, no break, improved battery life, u can check the info, and yea sum more stuf i forgot..so for those u sayin they should upgrade, they already have ths 8GB one which im gona get.. I think if you're thinking to get the N95, might as well wait and go for the 8GB version but if you're an existing N95 user, it's a bit pointless to sell and get the 8GB ver. It's a better choice to save the money and get a better phone in another 3-6 months time.

The N95 RAM is crap. I get "memory full" when browsing pages and I had to close everything then restart the browser.

QUOTE(toughnut @ Oct 17 2007, 09:04 AM) that's the worst thing i'm preparing to face when n95 reach my hand btw, which browser u use? nokia? or opera? The default one. I had opera mini installed too but seldom use it. I believe Opera (Java based) would suck up even more memory?

I dropped it once and still working perfectly From my experience, if we drop a phone too much then it would decrease the phone reception.

QUOTE(pigcat @ Nov 21 2007, 10:35 PM) i've been to pavilion today, and visited the nokia store. I've played around with the N95 unit, i was so suprised with the slider, when the slider in the middle position and pressed on the edge, you can press down 0.5mm further! The new 8gb version should be solid and won't move when you pressed down (at least mine does). So you can go pavilion nokia store to have a feel on the N95 first before you commit. Since the 8gb came out i strongly recommend save more money to get the 8gb instead. However i hope it was just the test unit being unhealthy. It makes sense to get the 8GB version if you're planning to own a N95. However if you already own one, I think it's pretty wasteful and pointless to change to the 8GB version

kaylong, sometimes it's not created and you have to create it then put your fonts into it.

I guess I'm a bit late on this new firmware but I'll definitely update it tonight The pain to endure is that I'll have to re-install all the apps again and btw, how do I get my sms backed up? Added on November 28, 2007, 2:02 pmkaylong, I did it once before and the replaced fonts were fugly so I reverted to original. If I remember correctly, you have to copy 4 files with different extension in order to get it working. I can't relatively remember the file extensions but I will let you know once I get home. I know we can back it up with PC Suite but what I wanted is to have it copied back to the phone memory. I still can't figure out how to do it. If I move to memory card, it can't be moved back to phone memory Btw, I can use and USB cable (even those from PSP, USB HDD, etc) to connect the N95 to PC? No harm done?

ali86, I normally have around 15-16MB with previous v12 firmware but currently updating v20 I thought dynamic paging would give you more free RAM?

I've just updated to firmware V20 and have 30MB free during startup and now 26.8MB after all the stuffs are loaded including Skye Caller Pro. Btw, what's up with that silly "Search Internet and My Content" in active display? How do I disable it? Honestly, I hate all these stuffs and worse still if it's blocking my main screen

A few stupid things with the V20 firmware:
1. The wallpaper becomes distorted and not displayed properly. Previously it covers the whole screen and now you can see there are some gaps at the left/right side.
2. The additional (very much useless) search function in active standby.
3. Although you get plenty of free RAM during startup but eventually when you open/close apps, the free RAM drops a lot even after you close them back.

QUOTE(Wolf516 @ Nov 29 2007, 12:34 AM) Erm.... hello there , can someone teach me how to update my phone to the latest firmware? Is it must change the product code to APAC models? Will doing this void the warranty? thanks~ Download the Nokia Software Updater. Try to use that and see if it can detect the latest firmware. If it does, don't bother changing the product code.
