That's a great piece of idea. Kudos admins. On a second thought the interview was a bit short but nevertheless it fits into the main page quite well if that is your objective.

Upon looking, that F1 car BAR (referring to MSR website driver of the month banner) is my car for our next FSONE mod. Hopefully it's a good omen for me.

I'm looking forward for the replacement track, hopefully the admins took a great deal regarding the venue. Driving for 70% of the race in F1 car is pretty tiring, so hopefully the track has a good sense of immersion to keep up the interest of the driver throughout the period of the race. I trust the discretion of the admins on this one.

On a negative side, people come and go, so instead of adding to the pool of driver we actually maintain the number. But all in all a good attendance I have to say.

I have to give special kudos to people like Madnoren, maranello, evohahn and pittqis for their commitments to MSR. It makes me feel guilty if I miss an event. These guys keep the league alive and kicking.

We need to increase the participation and professionalism a bit guys, otherwise talented people like Sabelt will leave for other leagues. So I rest my case and plan to take next season FSone with full attendance and professionalism if situation is permissible.

Nice interview I must say.

Hopefully more people will open their mind on joining us. I tried to convince my colleagues to join the league but it seems they are not really into it.

Some forumers also have interest but they afraid that they are not good enough to be in the league.

The participation in the league can be increase by getting sponsor on every season prizes and merchandise for winners. But this is very troublesome because Malaysian especially "people with power" do not have open mind on Electronic Sport field. What they want to support more is like other event which look more into sport for them. i.e Cheer leader competition.

Unlike in the States, there are people who willing to pay for racer to race in sim racing. If we do have this kind of environment, not only our league can reach maximum participation, but people like me must pass through qualification stage before able to race in the season.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the replacement track because I have to trained myself earlier than anybody else.

P/S: Hunting for my first win in my carrier.

Yes. I faced the problem before. Generally the car will overheat if stay idle (F1 car) and you need to switch off your engine to prevent this.

We'll announce this ASAP. Post #1 has a list of those who want Sepang to be replaced and with which track. Can post here if anyone else has a suggestion. smile.gif

Personally, so far i think our league track selection is good. Like u said, immersion is an important factor...sigh i cant forget my experience at Spa last week...smile.gif

Yup we cant stop ppl from going but we all have to do the best to improve the league regardless.

We all are commited to the league in a different way from each other. Give the best of what u can offer and we all can make a difference. Kudos to Pitt in hosting server when our main server is offline... thumbup.gif

I agree abt professionalism there are lots of room for improvement. As for participation, we can only show them what we offer. But the rest is up to them wether to join or not. The thing we can do abt this is some promotional efforts. So far, our effort to promote it to other forums gives us no result. Sabelt himself have done some good promotional job of our league on his asiamotorsport forums but to no avail. But we cant stop just because no one is joining. This should be a constant effort. smile.gif

It takes a special type of commitment being a simracer. I bet you all know this. In simracing, one person is Max Mosley and ringmaster Bernie (the advisors and admin), Jean todt and pat symonds (race strategy and engineer), Luca badoer and Alonso (test and race driver) all together. laugh.gif

Im sure sabelt will be back... nod.gif

Let us all use our 'lubangs' to hunt for sponsors! But we have to up the ante abit first..... smile.gif

Great. Let hope it will become reality. Who knows one day Malaysian Sponsor boleh masukkan rfactor as one event in ESWC Malaysia along with other games.

My post will be as long as mara's post but minus the quotes !

well the main hurdle i see to make this community larger is; most of the interested newcomer doesnt willing to spend RM 140 on rFactor. Believe me, if rFactor is free and we play thru hamachi, probably we have 40 players? About the competition, there's a lot here in Malaysia : NFS, PGR (our own madnoren missed the cut to represent our country last year tongue.gif)

So we need promotion to bring new players to our league by doing vids (we have lots in youtube), website, siggies and i mantain a MSR thread at cari.com forums. Right now only 4 peeps doing this. Personally, it took way to much of my time doing this and it takes away from what i should be doing in the first place : driving.

I never see this league as a competition but as a community. So for the community to survive, everybody has to chip in. I would like to express gratitude to Madnor for hosting this league, since he's paying almost 90 percent of the server cost every month. sir, i salute you notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

And for future plan, we'll try to update the website, a 2008 calendar (maybe?), t-shirt (maybe?) and a wikipedia entry.

As for the Sepang replacement; i'm currently testing the tracks that our track finder mr pittqiss proposed. Most probably it will be an European track.

There are many NFS-ian or other arcade racing gamer in malaysia, except sim racing gamer. If total up LFS and rF gamers, probably only 50++ sim racer from Malaysia.

There are many PC games car racing competition, but all are for arcade mode, like NFS series, even WCG also ran NFS series.

IMHO, there are only 1 reason why people afraid of sim racing, don't know how to do car setup. That why many people stay with arcade racing games or aids on when playing sim racing, as they no need worry about car setup.

IMHO, to promote MSR or rF, we may be can do some kind of online driving school. From here, everyone can start from basic, steps by steps to become pro racer. This concepts same like real world driving school, only different is that we do it online, use race car and rF as platform. Senior in MSR will be in charge the sessions, teach new comer, how to setup the car, what setting need to do first and etc. From there, new comers can learn from those seniors, as well improve their skills. IMHO, this will attract more people to join sim racing world and most important, MSR. tongue.gif

p/s: just my opinions. smile.gif

actually, pittqis used to play with PS2 gamepad smile.gif

edison : good idea. but they must willing to learn. I always said that you can never be fast in your first out lap, just try and learn the circuit plus the behavior of your car. I believe we always share setup in our league smile.gif just ask and most of the time you'll get it.

I will try my best to get the best price for wheel. But not in 1-2 quantities per order lah. Maybe like 5 units per order something like that.

The only concern is the shipping cost is quite higher especially to send wheel to East Malaysia.

As for Gamepad, try using PS2 first because as far as I am concerned, pitt is the expert of using it. he can even clocked good time as well. Now he is using G25, he is one of the title contender for the season 4 though.
