QUOTE(evoHahn @ Oct 28 2007, 04:36 PM) good decision. This is a long forgotten motec craft. I used to do it alot during the gtr2 days but my pc was to slow and wasted so much time recording vid and loading it into motec. Now since ive upgraded, i thought why not use it. I'll post a full links to all motec tuts later on. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by maranello55: Oct 28 2007, 05:06 PM |

QUOTE(Penzman @ Oct 29 2007, 08:53 PM) One thing to remember in Suzuka, slipping off the track is often easy AND fatal. really try to make an effort of avoiding the walls when out of control and get back on the track. I've crashed a lot trying different setups but took the occasion every time to make an effort to get back onto the track undamaged after many mishaps. Can be done. Yup..thats how i do it too...It can be proved valuable experience if its happens during races...god forbids.Practiced a lot of driving a damaged car back to the pit as well along with entring pitting lane without speeding. The entrance is tricky and narrow. In Suzuka...if ure slow....it shows.... Added on October 29, 2007, 10:43 pmI used to drool over voodoo3 retail box....that time it was the 8800 ultra...LOL And yes....POP, 5.25" half inch disk....i recall fondly the pc speaker splat sound when u jump and fall onto the spike in the dungeon. the swashbuckling was intense backthen! QUOTE(Penzman @ Oct 30 2007, 01:17 AM) To continue from my comment above, the more people have skills getting the car back on track undamaged or getting it back to the pits for repairs, the more interesting races get with less drivers out of the race. spot on there mate. We have to remember that it's not all about speed. on track speed is just one of many many many things....consistency is a major one. |

If ur monitors can support it, use as high refresh rate as possible...this will increase ur fps. provided ur vsync is off...
(use only supported refresh rates) |

I havent set up my bumps yet....maybe just a little...
I dont think im gonna run much curb coz the risk of going off track is more if ur approach speed and angle is wrong...plus its 40 laps For the final chicane, i brake at or slightly after the bridgestone billboard, depends on my approach speed. On thing about braking here is the point where u finish braking and start accelerating again. I finish braking after the entry chicane into the curb. Make sure my nose is pointing at the exit and the car is placed, then gauging the grip for exit and step on it. The chicane is crucial part of the circuit...u can get everything right on a lap and u can screw it all there. Great find edison.... Evo...great to know its working for u... |

Madnoren is correct...better slow than DNF
Edison, that was my setup during the GTR2 days....using GTR2 PD2 somthing like that....one screen telemetry...the other cockpit... Its an advantage but late i found out i was relying on it too much that i couldnt tell how the car is without the telemetry. From then i learn how to tell the difference on the car by feel....under, oversteer....wearing tyres and all...and looking at motec after that and confirming all what u felt is a satisfaction. Penzman, i lowered my tyre pressure a tad and found better overall grip and traction as well. I just soften the front spring a tad too not wanting it to lose the responsiveness too much....fiddling around for compromise. again, its like that with other settings too. Theres only ONE LINE into turn 1 and 2 and most part of the ESSES....the sensible part where u can start thinking to overtake is the hairpin and spoon, if the other car went out of line, which is very easy to do in suzuka. |

I dont look at the entry speed at the entry chicane....too bz looking for the entry kerb....which is my cue. but to maximise the approach u got to straight line 130R as much as possible and scrub the least speed as u can...
