QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Oct 18 2020, 02:08 PM) In addition to avocado, there are others fruits/vegetables that can bring health benefit, like beetroot, kale (eat it raw), flaxseed oil pill, Extra virgin Olive oil (make salad), Turmeric (cumin) pill, Lutein pill, Bio-calcium supplementary pill (old age people especially need this but not more than 600mg /day). And eat variety of fruits/vegetables everyday, eat vegetables raw if possible. (unless some cannot be eaten raw like potato, yam, peanut, bean...etc). |

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Oct 18 2020, 02:08 PM) Just avocado alone wont bring about any noticeable changes, you will have to make changes to the whole diet to see better results. Not too much avocado though, as avocado is considered a "fat" food due to the high fat content in it! |

I consume avocado on most days of the week.
Usually 1/3 a fruit per day as I blend it into a smoothie for my breakfast together with almond milk, Greek yoghurt, blueberries and MCT powder. It is a very good fruit to consume if you're on a ketogenic or low carb diet. QUOTE(NautieWabbit @ Mar 22 2022, 09:40 AM) How do you consume ACV? What frequency and volume? |

QUOTE(R231_SL65_AMG @ Mar 22 2022, 05:24 PM) I consume avocado on most days of the week. How do you find avocados that are considered ripe enough to eat immediately? My grocer store always has dark green ones that are hard as rocks. And if unripe, how long should I wait before it ripens? |

My grocer store always has dark green ones that are hard as rocks. this is the reason when the they put a sign near to the avocado "do not press on the fruit" And if unripe, how long should I wait before it ripens? i would lightly squeeze it a bit and only buys it when its soft. RM4 or 5 per fruit and for sure i want a ripe one kiddokitt liked this post

I buy my avocados from Ben's or Village Grocers, usually I buy one that is ripe enough to eat and 2 that would ripen over the week. I look for those that have a few dark spots on the skin as those will ripen within 2-3 days. If it is completely green it could take up to 5 days to ripen at room temperature. And if unripe, how long should I wait before it ripens? If it is hard as a rock, there might be a possibility that it won't ripen at all due to being stored in a chiller for too long or harvested too early. kiddokitt liked this post

Conpletely green one havent ripe. To speed up ripe keep it together with bananaAnd if unripe, how long should I wait before it ripens? I will by 3 shades (dark green for tomorow, lighter green for day after and grrrn for the 5th day But i avoid rounded avocado. Always i find some when ripe like got dark fibee. I only buy the ones that look like small terung. Always good experience This post has been edited by Roadwarrior1337: Apr 4 2022, 12:07 PM kiddokitt liked this post

Avocado fruit alone? Probably not. But combined with other good foods and a healthy lifestyle in other ways (drink lots of water, get enough sleep, etc. ), yeah it contributes to better diet and feel more energetic. Need more than avocado alone to be healthy

Not too much avocado though, as avocado is considered a "fat" food due to the high fat content in it! Avocado is not bad fatty food. It has a high MUFAs content. Good for raising good HDL cholesterol. Its rich in antioxidant too.Main problem with avocados is that some..probably many people now..got intolerance to avocado. Most probably because of fatty and high histamine content. It could trigger inflammation instead of reducing it. |
