QUOTE(silencio87 @ Oct 2 2008, 10:41 PM) im curious ..does this series tx 1000....able to read/play blu-ray discs? Good question but I also don't one Blu-ray disc to try out Reading from the technical review, it said that TX2000 does not support neither high res nor blu-ray discs. No comment on this as I don't have one to try out. This post has been edited by obm_nlh: Oct 15 2008, 02:11 PM

QUOTE(jchay @ Jul 27 2008, 10:32 PM) Oh yeah..i notice it already appear at notebookreview website and also HP (US) site on TX2500. Apparently better processor and graphic. Just hope it gonna be cheaper. One more things that i notice that most shops don't restock the TX2000 serires model anymore. Probably it gonna appear in Malaysia market very soon. No exact figures here but I've read that ZM is approx. 10% faster than the old TL processor in one article. But heck, the new video is a lot better than the old one.

QUOTE(yiks001 @ Dec 16 2008, 11:30 PM) Since this thread has quite a lot of users some time ago..... anybody else having this issue with their tx1000??? 1st model, normal still have some bugs.. especially after just over one year in operation. I've already upgrade my TX1015 to TX2550. Worth the money.. Good to have an active screen. But HP yet to fix the outdoor glaring problem. Need to wait until TX2 is released in Malaysia.

QUOTE(yiks001 @ Dec 17 2008, 02:03 PM) Is HP offering an upgrade to existing tx1000 series users??? Whether HP really gives upgrade path, it's still up to HP to clarify this. From my observations, TX1000 and TX2000 are really different babies from HP. The latter having active touch screen. Now, I really hate the one that's given on the earlier model (TX1000). Upgrade path, I think just to buy a new unit. Mind you, TX2000 series already up to TX2500/2600 variant which use different processors. Maybe you need to wait for the current model, TX2. Hopefully, by next year, it will be reaching our shores .. maybe by one of the tongkang from USA. Hehehehehehe.. This post has been edited by obm_nlh: Dec 17 2008, 03:06 PM

QUOTE(yiks001 @ Dec 18 2008, 11:48 AM) expansion port can be used with HP docking station only right? Nope...didn't get the docking station. The existing one from HP is having slotted port from the bottom. Since TX and other newer HP, are having side Expansion port, I am wondering which one of the expansion option is suitable for our TX. Can Anyone summarise the recommended operating temperatures for AMD CPUs? I need to look into this.. need to use the table for monitoring purposes.

QUOTE(yiks001 @ Dec 19 2008, 03:07 AM) Didn't believe news about nvidia chips having problems initially, tot they were contrived by competitors. until my tx1316au had problems. nvidia faulty GPUsnvidia has allocated finances to fix issue....dunno if adequate..... Still waiting from HP to fix..... wonder will they just replace with another faulty nvidia GPU or what?..... One thing for sure. Once I get back the notebook...it's gonna be so stresss tested.... Wah, that's a good article to read. Thanks. It's really scary to know that we have these not properly tested products out there. Maybe, it need as so-called "Melamine" epidemic to get the manafacturers listen to their ENG/QC Departments properly. Think about the technology not the books for once. So, you need to wait for the amatured technology only before adopting the new one eh? Phew, mine is ATI HD 3200. I don't know whether that one has any reported problem or not? QUOTE(yiks001 @ Dec 19 2008, 11:45 AM) But it's so interesting....maybe worth the notebook dying early too.... what with terms like 'Temperature of Glassification' ooo.... so hi tech.... wait for matured tech....no i doubt it........these are matured tech already....... Think this occurred coz of sloppy engineering or most likely mistake compounded by cost issues.... like 'Oh I have so many of these expensive faulty materials...what do i do?' 'Iknow.... We just sell it !!!' ' Oh...what a great idea!' But to me...(this is just conjecture...) I tend towards espionage..... nvidia and intel are at odds..... dunno since when..... Intel with their money and might... I would think they could just pay someone to err... make a mistake..... Intel does not operate that ethically too if you look at the time when AMD had the upper hand in cpu performance.... hehehehe, i like the underdog.. especially when they have the right solution..

QUOTE(Travies @ Jan 1 2009, 03:23 AM) erm i heard my fren said lowyatt plazza selling RM 3999 for TX 1000. due to no more production in tx 1000. so they selling as limitted edition. dunno real or not. btw, im using my tx1221au, already 1.5 year. no problem at all so far. never format before so far. juz temperature lil bit high sometimes when in gaming or high application. That's a tad expensive. TX2000 series has a better display.. Yep, be careful with the Nvidia chipset. I'm running my ATI chipset on HP recommended settings nowdays.

QUOTE(yiks001 @ Jan 2 2009, 11:20 PM) Just FYI: AMD Turion TK55 Max Temperature is 95C Taken from site below: AMD Turion TempsFor ZM-80 processor (like me), follow the link as follows: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Turio...M80DAM23GG.htmlWell, it can operates 5C higher. It means mine can be operated up to 100C. Wow, can boil water like this. I am keeping my CPU temperature below 65C, normally running at low 60-s. Better be save as prolonged heated component is not that good for longevity. Quoting for the same website on operating temperatures and ways to tackle this as follows: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Minimum and Maximum operating temperatures specify the range of temperatures in which the CPU is guaranteed to function. It is not recommended to operate the CPUs at temperatures lower than the minimum and higher than the maximum operating temperature - while they may work, pro-longed operation at these temperatures may cause system instability and shorten the CPU life. Running the processors at temperatures much higher than the maximum operating temperature may permanently damage the CPU.
Modern microprocessors include special features that can throttle or reduce processor frequency when the CPU temperature reaches the maximum, or shutdown the CPU completely when the temperature reaches certain critical value (which is greater than the maximum temperature). If your CPU is consistently running at temperatures close to the maximum, or periodically shuts down by itself, use the following methods to rectify the problem:
* Verify that there is unrestricted airflow to and from the CPU's heatsink and fan. * Move the computer away from other sources of heat, or to colder place. * Clean the CPU's heatsink and fan. Also clean other fans that are usually attached to your computer case. * Make sure that you use thermal paste when you install the CPU's heatsink. * Replace CPU's heatsink/fan with a more powerful one. * Add more fans to your case.

QUOTE(demio121 @ Jan 3 2009, 12:23 PM) get a cooler pad. my TX1221AU run ard 55-60 C with cooler pad. without jumps up to 80C. Get a good one guy. Your TX cost well over 2k, getting a RM20 cooler pad don't make justice. Your TX is running under standard power mode (which one?) or customised one? Yep, it would help.. but if your moving around or in tablet mode, it is going to be a bit ackward to carry the cooler with you too..

QUOTE(yiks01 @ Jan 3 2009, 03:42 PM) Dang, after HP so called replaced my tx1316au motherboard. now i'm having problem with wifi device disappearing. Which I never had experienced before. I just wonder if they just took someone's faulty mobo and put in mine. to test for them. I've recovered to factory settings also same. then update latest wifi drivers from hp site also same. updated nforce from hp site also same. same same wifi disappeared.....*sigh* also used nvidias latest 15.24 nForce drivers also no wifi device. gonna try with my vista64 bizness Think a few more trips to HP service center and I will equate HP=ACER. And never consider them again. I've heard that that's a classical sympthom of overheated motherboard...
