QUOTE(clivengu @ Apr 10 2021, 10:57 PM) Anyone rely on IP12 Magsafe wireless charger, or any magsafe dock to charge their phone? I bought a Baseus magsafe dock .. claim to can charge 15W... I tested.. start at 7pm at 41%... until 11pm at 62% 4 hours to get 20% charged? for power adapter im temporarily use my wife oppo charger ( 30W VOOC 4.0) with its usb C cable. The stand is nice and well build, but if the charging speed is crap like this really I can't see myself using it.... probably need 12 hours to fully charge from 0-100? Whats your experience with wireless charging. is it truly just gimmick and prefer to stick with the traditional port on apple 20w brick? You need PD charger to get fast charging magsafe working (I didn’t own one but that’s the theory behind). VOOC is Oppo’s proprietary fast charging and outside of oppo/realme/oneplus, it’s fast charging simply not going to work https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/10/29/...-20w-ac-chargerAnother thing, Apple may artificially slow down your charging if they learn that your charging pattern don’t need full charge soon and will let it overnight etc. This post has been edited by msacras: Apr 11 2021, 12:44 AM

I dont think is the apple doing for slowing down the wireless charging if direct plug in. usually the slow down will only starts once it hit 80% charged.

For non-magsafe Qi charger, able to centre the device properly to the coil affect charging too, but shouldnt happen for these magnet aligned chargers. TQ sifus Casing is subjective. Tempered glass is totally recommended as IP12 is totally flat, you can slap even cheapo tempered glass on and it’s still better than hydrogel and etc.

Depends on your preference, some lens will degrade the image quality. Also, most of the time we rely on the protruding case to protect the camera. From my IP5s and IP8, the stock sapphire camera glass really protect the camera well enough. Though both my touchID get scratched due to some dust in my pocket. All in all, it’s kind of redundant, but if your living/working environment is very dusty and sandy, it’s better safe than sorry.

TQ sifus Tough question this.. cases range from RM5 to RM999 (I kid you not). So it depends on your budget and priorities (protection, slimness, etc.).

iphone 12 mini battery health issue. I got it at launch last year Nov 2020, after 5 months of usage, the battery health is dropping fast lately. now left with 94%. contacted apple support, after diagnosis, hardware software all normal. i'm charging it at dinner time using apple 20w fast charger (from 50% to 100%) and charge it overnight using Nomad base station wireless charger 7.5w. anyone have similar issue?

For a heavy user, that’s kind of expected. Cause mini’s battery is small, we tend to charge it more often if we’re heavy users.

Wireless charging will cause a bit of degradation over time but for it to happen over just 5 months is a little surprising. Then again, the Mini has a really small battery and it’s probably not meant for heavy usage. My 12 is also about 5 months old, only charge once a day before I sleep, usually around 30%-40% battery life remaining when plugged in. I use the 12W iPad charger though, paired with a auto disconnect cable so it cuts off the power at 100% charge.

Is it me or is the charging sound when u plug in the cable is gone? Usually when u plug in the cable there's a sound, now no more.
Edit: turns out the silent mode switch is on, must have accidentally on it. That's the thing about ios, it needs to have a icon or something to let user know silent mode on or off.
