Lowest cost solution is to get USB-A to USB-C adapter, Ugreen/Baseus/Xiaomi have them. Under RM15 settle. You can then use it with your typical android/any other brand 10+W chargers. The legacy 5V2A works the best here. You do missed the 20W PD fast charge though.


Pricier solution is to get a USB C-PD charger, you get to enjoy the 18-20W PD fast charging too. Ugreen have one that gone generally under RM25, under RM20 on special sales.


The dumber and pricier solution, go get a old legacy USB-A to lightning cable. Capalang one range from RM10 all the way to branded one that cost over RM70. I said it's dumb because you spent so much for something legacy and don't support latest PD fast charging.


If you want something real fancy, get both PD charger, C-C cable and a lightning to Type-C adapter. You can then cross use your iphone and other TypeC devices with only one charger/cable.

I grabbed my 256GB mini (cause 64GB don't sound sufficient for 4+ years of usage and 128GB no stocks...) for 3.7k-ish.

I think for vanilla 12 it will be significantly higher than that even with sale, and entering the league of "topup a bit get IP 12 pro" game.

As someone rocking 74% battery health IP8, I guess the battery life won't be much any worse than that. Only concern is when 5G is available and 12mini's battery degrading 20% down the line, then might back to 3hours SOT game. My normal practice is to fix and renew my battery 2 years down the ownership.

Now my last worry is whether the 4GB RAM will be the limiting factor of the device few years down the line just like the 2GB RAM did to my IP8. IP8 is still a solid device for me if not for the smaller RAM, wish I had played the topup a bit go IP8 plus game back then.

Still sounds a little too risky for too little savings.

During 27.3, you can get 64GB red mini for RM302X if you have all the discounts factor in.

iPhone rarely have discounts and margin to vendors are smaller than other typical brands, it’s unlikely to find iPhone been selling significantly lower than RRP. Thus your best bet is to get it subsidised by online platforms during big sales.

There’s a proper iPhone sale at Shopee now, IP12mini go for RM2999 before further bank discount. I think this is historical lowest of it.





Suddenly I felt so grateful I topped up for 256GB model. Else this sale price is so so much cheaper than my purchased price (3.7k for 12mini 256GB). If want instalment now lowest 3699 for 256GB...

NOT recommended to go 64GB (128GB only less than RM200 more) but this is the theoretical lowest for 64GB.

HSBC and Standard Chatered bank cards only, thus that mean if you want discount then won’t have instalment.

Actually the most broken deal is SenQ’s Blue Max Pro. Only RM4.6k with the RM350 discount, LOL. It’s a steal

I also don’t have, if not I will scalp them myself.

SenQ and Machine have RM50 store vouchers (both I checked minutes ago still left 20% quota, so many people camp at Shopee at midnight, LOL).

But 3049 model if you use RM50 voucher it will go below RM3k, thus can’t use those RM200 bank vouchers. That’s why I demonstrated using RM3079 models.

IMO even if you don’t get any bank voucher discount, you can opt for instalment instead. 18months 0%, what’s not to like, LOL.

128GB is the most worthwhile models tonight. Balance between price and practicality. 128GB mini without bank discount is RM3199, still dirt cheap vs normal days.

Go for instalment then, can drag out the payment over year vs pay upfront and get RM200 savings, both have its charm.

It's a built in iOS feature, nothing should bother you too much unless every-time when you need the extra charges it got stuck at 80%.

It's not totally unprecedented, just that it's very rare and not scheduled.

I remember few years ago Apple even have a pre-CNY deal, it must be good value back then to make me remember till now.

As for the Apple Watch unlock, Apple can't have integration with cheapo smartband/TWS earphones unlock feature like Android do? Never tried before as TouchID was hassle free for me back then. Not that I expect Apple to allow us to have the luxury of unlock for cheap like Android did though.

Lowest was 2999 if you snatched midnight of 1st April with HSBC/SC cards.

If you opt for installment, the lowest was 3199 as you can't use bank vouchers, only saved RM50 store voucher (which finished by morning of 1st April).

Alternatively, if you're someone with huge monthly mobile plan commitment, Maxis is offering good deal now where you suscribe to their 188plan+48shared line for 24months contract, they give you 128GB mini for free (RM1).

RM236 +6% SST for 24 months will cost you RM6000. Minus the IP cost of RM3k, that mean your monthly telco bill (with SST in) will effectively be RM125 only, and that's for 130GB of data to be shared among 2 numbers, quite cheap than their vanilla offer of RM98 (103.8 with SST) for 40GB data. For comparison, I'm currently on RM68 (RM72 with SST, EastMalaysia exclusive plan) for only 30GB of data.

Don’t need to wait, Machines’ sale price is still on going. Not as dirt cheap as 1st April Shopee sale but close enough especially if you’re planning to go instalment.

I checked Machine’s web page, so I assume retail physical store should have similar offer.

Plan you mean he’s taking contract and you buy the phone? Don’t see why he’s doing so as he’s on the losing end, but typically, a RM100-130 monthly telco bill for 2 years contract will bet you a discount of bout RM1k.

I’ll recommend Ugreen’s HD tempered glass. It’s so fit and smooth to touch. Though it’s kind of sticky and if you’re not aligning it straight enough in first try and re-apply it after placed down, may leave some bubbles at edges.

You need PD charger to get fast charging magsafe working (I didn’t own one but that’s the theory behind). VOOC is Oppo’s proprietary fast charging and outside of oppo/realme/oneplus, it’s fast charging simply not going to work

Another thing, Apple may artificially slow down your charging if they learn that your charging pattern don’t need full charge soon and will let it overnight etc.

Oh ya, my bad, I overlooked that.

For non-magsafe Qi charger, able to centre the device properly to the coil affect charging too, but shouldnt happen for these magnet aligned chargers.
