cool then, my old eyes trying to search for info late night and read wrongly.
looking at the state of our nation, wouldn’t be surprised if 5G coming at all. After all PIC will benefit in others ways if you get my drift...

Yeah man, even 5G also want to politicize.. ranting.gif

Supposed to rollout 5G this year, then drama happened then postponed announcement to next year - then by 2022/23 only the infra will be ready. Bummer really.

Ya, the numbers don’t lie. The smaller the battery, the faster they run out of juice. I already expected this when the battery sizes are known. Don’t believe the chipset efficiency marketing stuffs laugh.gif
*
Its the Qualcomm chip laaa. That x55 chipset draws more energy - unfortunately they can’t get the x60 in time for the iPhone 12 which is said to have better efficiency in terms of power draw.

Hmm interesting, even my iPad Pro from this year is ‘ZP’ as. well. My guess is this year onwards they started distributing the devices under the ‘ZP’ tag.

How true is this? I never knew iPhone price drop just 2 months after release?? https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2...wait-two-months
*
This is quoting for foreign markets, not Malaysia.

Here, you play the waiting game also will end up with the same outcome - no change of price.

Ori la bro, bought from local seller, not China one laugh.gif
For tempered glass I'll buy at a retail shop later coz I wanna get their expertise to apply it for me. Don't mind paying bit more for the service, either Hoda at Machines or BlueO at Ninjaz.
Yes, new iPhones minimum have to be on maxis One Plan 128.
*
Hoda from Machines is overly overpriced, I suggest you get from sakurazz, he has a Shopee store too. I saw that the iPhone 12 ones are already available.

I see so many here already stocked up their accessories prior to the announcement, really notworthy.gif

I really believe that mobile phone innovation has already reached its peak of the life cycle - there’s no major innovation required anymore, especially for flagships.

Now is just renovation / minor refresh upgrades. The most also will be on the software’s end. I guess we won’t be having any major innovation for a while until someone discovered something new.

well apple still got that pro motion 120hz and apple touch id (ipad) to put on iphone... plus the new qualcomm x60 which they said is better than current x55 on ip12
but yeah apple is going to concentrate more on their subscription basis (apple tv / apple music / apple games)
*
The ProMotion 120hz might be tricky, unless they can fix the battery issue. Honestly, Apple has done really well with the ProMotion on the iPad and I would love to see it on the iPhone Pro series as well - but so far the battery is the sticking point. To be quite frank, the current Pro series does not live up to the ‘Pro’ name - most notably is the USB-C sweat.gif I mean, it’s a Pro series man, come on.

Qualcomm x60, yup way better than Intel’s chip for sure. I noticed how bad my current 11’s signal / speed compared to the previous X which was using Qualcomm’s chip. Hopefully with the x60, we can witness better battery efficiency, much better than the current-gen x55.

I totally concur. That’s why I am still in 2 minds whether to go for iPhone this time around as battery life is most important to me. One more thing...we know battery will degrade over time and this iPhone people will keep for at least a couple of years to be able to utilise the 5G feature. Hence, come that time, you can imagine how bad relatively the battery life will be. So, decision, decision, decision.
*
This is also my concern now. I’m considered a heavy user and never carried a powerbank since I had my 11 Pro Max for over a year now. I’ll wait for reviews on the 12 Pro Max and evaluate again.

5G? Nah, not gonna happen anytime soon.

https://youtu.be/mF39nRW-eh8

Anyone watched this simple test of battery? The most straight forward so far as i’m concerned about the battery as i need it to last whole day.
Summary - for browsing and youtube video is comparable to iphone 11, (in fact ip11pro is weak which i’m really considering if i can’t afford ip12) but the most obvious is ip12 is VERY bad for gaming usage in the test! Just 3 hours compared to ip11 of 6! 11 Can’t be right? With the most advanced A14 chip?

Which got me thinking, could ip12 / 12 pro be incomplete and has very limited real world testing and launched to meet deadlines? That with a non-negotiable deadlines, just confirm overall 90% but got 100% hardware done and ship them out first? That it’s not fully fine tuned yet.
Anyone who’s a project manager/ construction/ engineering would understand - reverse engineer the process ie build the roof first and then later sort out the internals as long as the major building structure is out first because shortage or disruption to materials like what happened because of pandemic.

This is also from the other youtube about display sets having the ip12pro side band scratched badly just sitting on display. And the weird charging mechanism happening that matches only some and not common ones. Every expert working to make sure their own system works but all of them havent come together to sort out the kinks. Like something is not fully right with the materials.

And then it got me thinking (sorry one of those late night, too much thinking) that Apple might not be the same without Jobs anymore. In the past, it would aim for revolutionary products BUT might not be complete, now Apple would fine to refine existing products to be more widely used but not chasing for revolutionary. I would imagine Jobs daring not to launch ip12 until he’s happy 😃
*
I think you’re just justifying for yourself.

Alot of things that Apple does, is not picked up by the public because they chose to close a blind eye and condemn for the sake of condemning - just for the sake of FOMO. I am not biased towards any brands, but I always believe in a brand’s philosophy and if the brand works and looks good, I’m good with it.

When you mentioned ‘revolutionary’, tell me.. what other brands are ‘revolutionizing’ the mobile phone space at this juncture? As we’ve mentioned in the past few pages - the mobile phone industry is already at the pinnacle of technology, now it’s just the renovation and updating phase. It’s a life cycle. Also, if you’ve watched Jerryrigseveryting’s latest iPhone 12 video - you will notice alot of components has been remodified, restructured, and redesigned to the extend even Jerry himself is impressed. These are the small things that brands do that most people will bat an eye on.

To answer your question - display units are abused to the core, don’t compare personal and display units. Unless you are going to treat your phone the same way as people treat display units. Apple is not a perfect company by any means, but when it comes to industrial design and vision - they are simply up there. Why do people diss Apple eventhough they are not a user? Top of Mind. It’s a brand that has already instilled in the mind of many - this is what they always wanted.

If order from Apple online, will it deliver on time? I bought the 20 W charger, it shipped from Singapore to Shenzhen to Vietnam to Shah Alam to Sepang now back to Shah Alam. This is a roller coaster.

Just concerns will reach in time or not.
*
If they have ready stocks it will be shipped from SG’s warehouse to MY, quite fast - 1-2 working days. At times where the stocks is not available in SG, they will ship from Shenzhen.

If you want faster, Lazada LazMall nod.gif

Actually I’m just waiting for the iPhone 12 Pro Max reviews to pull the trigger, especially on the battery part.

So far the only thing that I’m desperate to change is the modem - from Intel to Qualcomm.

If no CC, how do they get the payment from you for 24 months? blink.gif  confused.gif

Telcos can sign contract without CC one - as long as you pay monthly. Like Pat said, they can always block the device’s IMEI if you fail to make payment by x amount of months.

I'm aware of the IMEI blocking and it still surprises me they will allow such risky move. Well, just saying.
*
They probably evaluated the risk, despite the possibility of redundant phones will be high. At the same time, they can also bar mobile lines - this is probably the biggest ‘asset’ they own. Most people don’t want to lose their mobile line because its a hassle to get a new one and also means that you won’t be reachable.

Insurance will also be key nod.gif
