No one talking about Apple ProRAW?

I mean, the ability to shoot in RAW is amazing! Pretty much like Android had a couple of years back, finally can shoot RAW images with EXIF metadata without needing another app.

QUOTE(vez @ Oct 14 2020, 11:14 AM)
the c to lightning cable support fast charge, you can use back your old iPhone 6 cable... if your charger adapter can output 5V 2-3A, by using back iPhone 6 cable able to draw 10-12W as well... not really fast, but is faster than 5V1A 5W

the cable usb c to lightning support Power Delivery (PD), by spec it suppose can let newer generation iPhone draw ~18W, thus, Apple call it fast charge sweat.gif you might notice a lot other Android maker mentioning charger they will stated Watt, e.g. 30W, 50W... fast charge

this year iPhone 12 lineup seems able to fast charge at 20W, probably 9V ~2.2A or 12V xA maybe...

Apple fast charge is miles behind many android maker which uses proprietary charging method because Apple is using USB PD... which use commonly in modern laptop

conclusion is, if you buy new iPhone 12 any model, without buying a USB C Power Delivery support charger, it wont fast charge your iPhone 12 laugh.gif
USB PD charger nowadays reliable brand is cheap, <RM50, some can get RM25-35
*
For Pro devices, should move to USB C chargers instead of Lightning - how can they not thought of this man. iPad Pros already moved to USB C since 2018, why not the iPhones.

bro, can get this 20W USB-C power brick, RM99

If you have an iPad Pro, can use the same duckhead. But unfortunately you need to change the cables every time because Apple ain’t smart to think of that.

If you have an 11 Pro Max, I would say not necessary to upgrade, since the only upgrades are the camera and chipset - 5G shouldn't be a consideration at all right now smile.gif
*
I’m upgrading my 11 Pro Max after 1 year, unnecessary upgrade but always a sucker for new tech.

The idea of MagSafe is just too tempting - especially the magnetic wallet pouch tongue.gif

Hahaha, buy your own tongue.gif

Actually, there seems to be a desire for smaller, flat screen flagships these days, considering the S10e was quite popular last year. Maybe Apple will have a winner in the 12 Mini.
I upgrade every year unnecessarily too so no judgement there biggrin.gif
*
We always find excuses to upgrade every year tongue.gif

QUOTE(boonhan @ Oct 15 2020, 10:31 AM)
Disappointed if the battery rumour are true compared 11 series. The rest of spec seem ok.
*
Based on many sites - the battery is indeed smaller than the 11. But that doesn’t mean that the battery will be worse off - with the help of software optimization, the battery performance might be equal / similar to the 11. Then again, if you are buying the Pro Max variant, battery should be the least of your concerns.

Bro, don't get 11 pro max. You will be losing out nightmode for the ultrawide, telephoto and selfie lens plus 5G. Not now but will future proof ur phone.
*
Reality speaking, even if you ‘future proof’ your phone - you are more likely to change it again after a year or two. Technology advances.

At this time of age, I don’t think ‘future proof’ works for phones anymore. But hey, newer is always better - always a reason to justify the purchase.

i mean that if you are in 12pro thread... surely ppl will say go for 12pro lar...
if u are in 11pro thread... ppl will say go for 11promax lar...
i'm not talking about the selling phone...

it's up to u in the end... and your wallet...  cool2.gif to go for which phone...
alot of people said that 11promax and 12promax not much different except the camera (with the upgraded night mode on portrait and rear)
*
I think you’ve made a good point.

Just get whatever suits you - trust your gut.

Hi guys. Would like to ask about magsafe. As far as I know all i12 has magsafe in the phone .  Means the phone will stick to a magsafe charger itself right ?  Then whats the purpose for clear case with magsafe that is advertised in apple official web ? Any different between official magsafe clear case vs rm5 China made cheapo silicon clear case ?

https://www.apple.com/my/shop/product/MHLM3...bc32b3f4db02801

MagSafe is a technology used on previous versions of the MacBooks - its a magnetic charger that can be detached with sufficient force, like all magnets do. The beauty of this was to avoid people tripping over the cables and pulling the entire MacBooks with it.

MagSafe on the iPhone is basically another charging standard that is also compatible with Qi chargers. The casing from Apple seems to have another layer of ‘magnets’ to hold the additional accessories that is also MagSafe certified ;- the add on wallet holder. Its basically an accessory for people like me who hates carrying wallets around - just snap it to the back and ready to head out.

You’ll need a wireless charger that is Qi standard or MagSafe to charge it ‘wirelessly’.

Waiting for Nomad to come out with another all-in-one charging base - the current Base Station Pro abit out of budget.

Again, you misunderstand. I was not addressing the extras or improvements over previous year’s. Merely touching on the prices posted by you and commented by the other forummer.

It is a forgone conclusion that newer models will be better year in and year out. And before I am misinterpreted once again, make no mistake, iPhones are great but I strongly believe that if something or someone is good, don’t tell them it’s good, tell them what’s not good enough and hence they can improve further. In the case of mobile phones, remember, there’s no perfect phone.
*
Frankly, if you noticed that most phones are already stagnant in a technological sense - its like we’ve peaked at the greatness of technology that you don’t see much advancement anymore - regardless of brands.

Most of the updates are merely minor to gimmicky changes. You are right, there is no perfect phone - to each its own.

And until today, people are still arguing over which platform(s) / brands / models are better etc etc. It’s 2020 man. You like it, you buy it. Enough.

U setiap tahun tukar maaaaa, nothing new hhahahahahaha 😝😝😝

11 pro max can be sold for how much now?
*
Every year I find an excuse to change my phone - and every year you will see my presence in every next iPhone thread here tongue.gif

Not sure thou, probably within the region of 3.5k - 4.5k depending on the storage capacity.

I feel 11 pro's frame is so outdated after seeing the 12 pro.

If everything else is the same, I am still gonna buy it. I can't wait anymore!  rclxm9.gif

But if you add a casing, cant tell already 🤣

Same here, getting the 12 Pro Max from the 11 Pro Max. May also get a Mini for the heck of it laugh.gif
You get 5G, slightly faster chipset, and night mode on the wide and selfie cameras. Enough of an upgrade? Yeah, arguably not much considering the 5G part is pretty much useless at the moment.
*
Nice, which color you’re getting eh?

Thinking of Blue, since its my favorite color 🤣

Which model you eyeing bro? The two models I'm eyeing will launch in November, the Pro Max and Mini laugh.gif
True also, Malaysians are rich laugh.gif

Pro Max, since I am a current Pro Max user myself.

Can’t imagine myself using another smaller screen estate - now its 6.7inch, even better tongue.gif bruce.gif

So are you planning to use the mini as a secondary phone? I’m actually considering an Android for my secondary phone, maybe the Pixel 4A.

It’s time. Depends on which one attracts you the most, can’t go wrong with any of the colors. I’d say Apple did well on the colors this year, shame that the Green from the 11 was not carried to the 12 series.
