Same here, I was also in the queue for iPhone 4 in the Gardens with maxis and I remember not being able to buy the 6 Plus till January coz maxis got no stocks

Hahaha.... that's true. But then again, there has not been much breakthroughs or innovation coming from phone manufacturers nowadays. I actually see more innovation coming from android phone manufacturers, ie 120hz screen, pop up cameras, under screen front cameras. It would be a real bummer indeed if Apple wont be giving a 120hz screen on their latest iteration of the Iphone 12 Pro Max while their android competitors have already did so since last year.

The innovation has been coming from Samsung, Huawei and the likes from the East side of the world for the longest time.
Apple just had a lot of hardcore fans and America protecting the brand. If you put Android into the Apple Phones, they would have lost the competition a long long time ago.

Whether or not Apple gives 120hz screen on their latest phones doesn't matter, for as long as I could remember, hardware wise other manufacturers have always been miles ahead. *shrug* So even if they put in 120hz now, so many other parts of its hardware are still lacking behind. Their only strength is to keep and safeguard the software (ios) close to their hearts so that nobody can mess with it and adjust to their own wills whereas Android is open source. free for all to test and use and customise.

I use both Android and Apple and I believe both can exist at the same time and we as consumers are the ultimate winners. I don't necessarily compare between the both coz you really can't - you are absolutely right about the one thing that sets Apple apart - software. All Apple users who are integrated and invested in the ecosystem won't switch, or even if they do, it'll be tough and 9 out of 10 they might switch back.

So for me, there really is no value in an iPhone vs Android argument in terms of hardware specs, camera innovations, etc. Enjoy the best of both worlds!

haha. My other half works in Apple software development, so i also heard a lot of shit going on as well in their software. They just keep it hush hush, that's why it's a closed model.
I only changed because like i said i was using Samsung for the last 5 years, wanted something new and refreshing (but kinda regretting it now).

Anyway, you answered your own question - software. And i also like flagship phones with flat screen.

But to be honest, Huawei got kicked out of the market is a huge blow towards all consumers. For one thing, Samsung now monopolizes the android market. And also, Apple is benefiting from this (insider's market research info). When Huawei and Samsung were competing with each other, they had to be so creative and innovative and people who have been using Apple might be tempted to actually switch to Huawei or Samsung just because they could offer so much more in hardware and software too. Now it's just Samsung and Apple. So they literally can sell subpar things and market it at the highest prices because now they are kings.

To be honest, screw the 120Hz screen. It is not pure innovation. It is a have or a without is fine. IMO the true innovation in phones in the past few years really just boils down to two. Google Pixel's night sight and Apple's FaceID. The rest is meh just downright lame.

For the hardware innovation, mobile manufacturers have none and all credit really belong to TSMC. There I proved it I am not anti Asian. Ok?
