its all bout spiral minus Dai Gurren Dan n gattai in it.
the way they compose the show is good though.

n Azaka is pissed coz her brother would gay for Shiki if Shiki is a guy.

Shiki at after credit is cute. wub.gif
n still need more azaka

just watched it.

what you said.
and... honestly, this is a huge let down. (not as great as ep4 did, and dont get me wrong, it is a good episode, but with all the hype surrounding it and it being 2 hour... it wasnt as good id hope it to be)

the surround sound effects was "slacked off", episode 1-3 was WAAAY BETTER. like the zombie fighting scene, that was a GOOD chance to play with surround sound effects with shiki "dancing" amongst canon fodders. sadly, slacked off with heavy BGM, and EVEN THE BGM, was rather weak.

again, KnK was main attraction is its lore, but to people that arent "hardcore" typemoon fans for its lore (or the style of it), its just very hard to hold a strong attraction. what got me hooked to this? the visuals and mainly, surround sound. 1-3 had it all, ep4 blew it, hoped for ep5 to make a comeback, while the visuals was GREAT (imo the best amongst the 5), the audio was lackluster.

last fight, awesome. but to sit through almost 2 hours of "lolwut" lore and mediocre action for that last battle, imho, not worth it. redemption? shiki's dere face at the end.

Movie could've been shorter if it didn't skip all over the place so much. If you thought Knk series' timeskips was annoying, then what would you think if the whole 2 hours of ep5 was timeskips?

I don't find any reason why the narrative should be done this way. I'm sure the book wasn't this way either. Was it probably just to be pretentious and to be "in-theme" with the whole rassen philosophy or perhaps to depict insanity? Story would've been better if it was linear.
*
EXACTLY.

had they made it into maybe a 1hour 30min or around that duration and cut down on the needless skipping/flashback/PIME TARADOX, it would've turned out rather great imo.

the "episodic" time skips i can accept, but dayum 2 hours of it within the episode itself, wow...

AFAIK, from the people mentioning in this thread (namely fyonne), the novels is written in this way, so if they wanna preserve it, this is what we get. again, im TOTALLY FINE with keeping it the same with the original novels, but you can IMPROVISE to make it more friendlier to non "hardcore" typemoon fans.

I agree with Quazacolt about the show, it's being too um... how should I put it, "reserved" maybe and the confusion could be a huge turn off.

I am a big fan of typemoon (well fate mostly), but I have not read tsukihime or knk before and so I have no background knowledge on the show whatsoever. However, I am interested in the world, and after watching ep 5 I went to read the wiki to refresh my memory on the first 4 eps and everything began to make more sense and ep 5 felt more enjoyable...

I think Knk is really a going to be a love or hate show. If you don't have a good feeling after watching the first movie, it's very unlikely you'll enjoy the remaining ones.

One thing I found a bit quirky. Tomoe's mother. In the repeated cycles, she stabs her neck after she stabs Tomoe. Which would mean she'd die in Tomoe's room.

Yet her 'real' corpse is in the living room. A tiny plot hole, or the repeated cycles have a 'slight' variation to reality?

Sadly, I have to agree with the sound not being emphasized enough in the zombie fight. As far as the lore goes, KnK has always been a cult thing. I doubt it was actually targeted at mainstream audiences. The fact that it only derived a fandom from the light novels (and fans who simply gorge down anything type-moon makes - like me), and ludicrous amount of talk goes enough to say that it was purely intended for the fans.

A similar case would be the Ghost in the Shell franchise. You either be part of the fandom and read the lore yourself [like depthcharge], or you can choose to stay confused and feel ripped off. [well, those who paid to see it at the jap cinemas, that is]

Come on, Gundam 00 ep17? You saw that coming MILES away. Calling that better than 2 hours of brainf***ing padarox is simply unjustified, lol.

Well I like it. The style even though may be inconsistent, you have to remember it was made into a movie with 1 story closing everything. Look at it like that. Don't expect series like story throughout the episode

yeah, all of Nasu Kinoko's novel are connected in a way or another. IIRC, the magi association that Rin is in is the same one that has Ciel-sempai

You're right, and that make it awesome.
Have you ever read a crossover of those character? Maybe you had read this> Type-moon Complex x (01-03) by crazy clover club...

storyline/lore aside, what it provided there was much better than what a cinema/ova/movie production 2 hour show - knk 05 ever did. hell, the emulated surround sound was much better than knk 05's pure surround sound (pretty much just the last fight, seriously).

the only thing that was notebly worthwhile from that 2 hour was the last fight, and the dere shiki face, and quite frankly, 2 hours for those 2 wasnt quite justified to be worthwhile.

Hmmmmm

My Japanese friends who were also fans of KnK told me that 6th movie is bit slow. But fighting the Mouth of Babel is an intriguing idea itself, I want to see how ufotable interpret this ability and Azaka's flame mastery.
