This show needs more Touko action. If Aoko can kick so much ass in Melty Blood, onee-san should get some chance to show off her stuff too XD

Does anyone else feel funny that Kokutou and Tohno Shiki look and sound EXACTLY the same?

The first time I heard his voice and realised it was SuzuKen, I laughed so hard. Tak tahan XD

try read back post to get for the answer. as mentioned, Tohno Shiki is like Kokuto with Ryougi Shiki power. Azaka is like Akiha though both has almost same power which is fire, iirc 1 is ignite fire while the other control heat, both are lil sister to main character (Mikiya for Kara no Kyoukai case) n also has a feeling toward their brother as well as both of them has been seperated (Azaka's case is she choose to distant herself from her brother hoping Mikiya would see her as woman instead of imouto).

seriously, read back post for more spoiler n info relationship between Kara no Kyoukai n Tsukihime as well as other Nasu-verse are connected.

I'm a little hurt.

With all due respect, I'm quite well-versed in Nasuverse lore. Yes, I also know that Rakkyo is the prototype to Tsukihime. Yes, I read the first three novels [thanks, Mirrormoon]. Yes, I've combed through most of the articles in the Type-Moon wiki, and spoiled myself enough long before they even announced that there would be a movie adaptation of the novels.

I'm just pointing out that it's technically amusing for the same seiyuu to be matched with the same face again.

i just watch chapt 1. donno got sm1 ask or not. pretty lazy to read all reply.

shiki said it will take 8 life cos she saw 8 floating object. but when i count theres 9 floating object? blink.gif
*
Fujou Kirie [creepy laughing girl who fought Shiki] + 8 flying girls = 9 floating objects.

The reason why there are 8 'ghosts' is because the girls have the ability to have out-of-body experiences. When that happens, Kirie saw them and wants to make friends with their 'spirits' but they ignore her. So, Kirie kinda made them suicide so they would see and talk to her. Shiki's first encounter with Kirie marks the 7th victim, I think. Before the 8th girl managed to suicide, Kirie had killed herself after Shiki stabbed her 'spirit'. Her suicide is the one that Azaka and Touko talk about at the epilogue.

Whether or not the 8th 'innocent' girl suicided, I'm not so sure.

Movie could've been shorter if it didn't skip all over the place so much. If you thought Knk series' timeskips was annoying, then what would you think if the whole 2 hours of ep5 was timeskips?

I don't find any reason why the narrative should be done this way. I'm sure the book wasn't this way either. Was it probably just to be pretentious and to be "in-theme" with the whole rassen philosophy or perhaps to depict insanity? Story would've been better if it was linear.
*
Actually, I think that's how the book was written. Nasu has a knack for swapping narrative viewpoints in the middle of the story - swapping flashbacks in between would come off as no surprise. I have to admit ep5 almost drove me insane but I think if ep5 was told in a linear fashion it wouldnt leave as much impact as it did. And yeah, perhaps it was arranged that way to get the audience to feel the kind of insanity Tomoe has been going through.

I actually appreciate they went through the trouble of turning the story into a puzzle. Instead of watching it and be done with it, KnK becomes something thats actually memorable.

And wtf is with Shiki and her "out-of-character" dere dere mode throughout the show?
Her tsundere mode went flaring because she doesn't want to admit that she's madly in love with Kokutou. This is one of the rare occasions where passionate love is displayed not by physical gestures but the strong irritation in the boyfriend's absence - and perhaps selfishness, since Kokutou only gave her since phone number and nothing else.

Shiki wants to be loved, she just doesn't want to admit it. And that's why her precious little dere dere moments are so fricking awsm.

One thing I found a bit quirky. Tomoe's mother. In the repeated cycles, she stabs her neck after she stabs Tomoe. Which would mean she'd die in Tomoe's room.

Yet her 'real' corpse is in the living room. A tiny plot hole, or the repeated cycles have a 'slight' variation to reality?

the surround sound effects was "slacked off", episode 1-3 was WAAAY BETTER. like the zombie fighting scene, that was a GOOD chance to play with surround sound effects with shiki "dancing" amongst canon fodders. sadly, slacked off with heavy BGM, and EVEN THE BGM, was rather weak.

again, KnK was main attraction is its lore, but to people that arent "hardcore" typemoon fans for its lore (or the style of it), its just very hard to hold a strong attraction. what got me hooked to this? the visuals and mainly, surround sound. 1-3 had it all, ep4 blew it, hoped for ep5 to make a comeback, while the visuals was GREAT (imo the best amongst the 5), the audio was lackluster.
*
Sadly, I have to agree with the sound not being emphasized enough in the zombie fight. As far as the lore goes, KnK has always been a cult thing. I doubt it was actually targeted at mainstream audiences. The fact that it only derived a fandom from the light novels (and fans who simply gorge down anything type-moon makes - like me), and ludicrous amount of talk goes enough to say that it was purely intended for the fans.

A similar case would be the Ghost in the Shell franchise. You either be part of the fandom and read the lore yourself [like depthcharge], or you can choose to stay confused and feel ripped off. [well, those who paid to see it at the jap cinemas, that is]

/off topic

Come on, Gundam 00 ep17? You saw that coming MILES away. Calling that better than 2 hours of brainf***ing padarox is simply unjustified, lol.

hey all, i juz started watching this anime. i read somewhere tat this story is related to fate/stay night. can anyone tell me how is it related besides that Toko gave Shiro the puppet body? i cant really find any info from wikipedia...

thanks!
*
Not really. Fate and KnK are related by the fact that both are created by Type-Moon. As for any connections, well, I suppose you can say the Nasuverse's rules of myth and magic applies in both series - each explored them in different directions.

----

In another note, I finished watching it this morning. I shed a tear and gave it an applause smile.gif

Zeliard: Fate, Tsukihime, and KnK are all set in the Nasuverse. Same law of time, magic and creatures apply.

Well, in general do you see more similarities with fate & Knk or tsukihime & Knk?
*
Tsukihime, of course, what with people calling KnK the prototype to Tsukihime and all. I just answered Lencent's question about the relations between Fate and KnK - which they are indeed set in the same universe. Not exactly what's getting you worked up though, lol.

sorry to bump up this old thread. but rewatched the last epi again, and i still dont the drug part. why did Lio want him to take the drug after feeding him the marijuana? any kind soul to clear my doubt?
thanks!
*
Lio is a ronery junkie. So he wanted people who could be as crazy as he is. He tried selling the weed and bloodtip to street junkies but they died cos they were too weak against it. So since he stabbed Mikiya in the leg, he offered Mikiya a painkiller, the bloodtip. He hopes that if Mikiya takes the bloodtip, Mikiya will turn batshit insane like him, too.

So Aniplex announced the Bluray box, coming soon. It will have all 7 films, a TV special, a recap episode and the much-anticipated epilogue OVA (and an artbook). The best part is that the original Japanese release will come with ENGLISH SUBTITLES. It's due to be released 2/2/2011. Moonspeak announcement in the spoiler tag.

There's only one problem. It will cost JPY 52500, thats about RM 2000. Not including tax and shipping. cry.gif
If I had a HDTV and PS3 I'd actually consider getting one myself...

I don't really need fancy subs to watch KnK. But I imagine if they would include english sub tracks they wouldn't Americanise it or anything (like what GG did). At this point, the only reason anyone would buy the BD is to enjoy the beautiful production - subs isn't really a priority anymore. At the moment I'm quite optimistic that they won't have engrish subs, lol.

(if all else fails, there's always a certain thunder god on the internet to depend on)

Let's hope that's just a photoshopped trolling attempt. But /a/ seems to provide quite a lot of nasty screenshots.

BTW, there were some manga shorts, 3 of em, illustrated by Takeuchi. Side stories, which were quite nice, too.

oh well, at least the sound effects were nice

Koda pemalas. Also, the epilogue had a LOT of Nasuwords. But also a lot of scenes that would look great as wallpapers biggrin.gif Its not often do you see an orange sky in a snowy scene.
