Actually I only think its the hype surrounding it. Sure I admit yes its good. I played vs Threshold decks (legacy) with goyf and also vs BDW Splash Goyf and Aggro Loam (goyf)

But the price for a goyf is now MORE EXPENSIVE THAN FOW , Original Revise Duals, Orim's chant and that is just not right.

I guess its like Sea Drake lol.

You gimme the price la... i dont really know... whats the normal price for BOP nowadays huh?? dun so expensive la... nnt cant play draft at your place dah hehehe~~
well ill buy a booster box for each set... just to complete the uncommons of the set hehehe~~ but really cracking is fun hahaha... even though its crap rares... well... its a self satisfaction lah~~
BTW i buy fat pack... my fat pack so far is good~~ got damnation... last time got sky swallower and dual land in one pack... i guess im lucky in fat packs hehe... owh i buy them for the novel~
*
I do believe that Fat Packs have a better rare distribution. My mate got himself a Coldsnap fat pack and he got a foil Ohran Viper and a NORMAL Ohran Viper. This was at the height of its release and he sold them for 50 usd for 2x. (one foil one normal).

I traded a revise dual land (not sure if it was a tropical island or tundra) for some common cards. That was more than 10 years ago.

That was my first starter, I still remember I got a Serra Angel from that starter.
*
OMG I would have killed for that trade. So I wouldn't need to suffer and pay for the duals now.
Then again I think all new players get conned. I traded away my Meddling Mage at the height of the IPA block constructed season. For ... a Sengir Vampire ....

meh, the Street Wraiths weren't foil and the Necro was wb... tongue.gif i don't think any normal person would have the money to foil out a deck like that. as for me. i'll usually just black border and Japanize a type 1 deck.
*
ROFL yeah the Wraiths aren't but dude .... that's 4th ed Jap I believe. And that's the very first version of it released in Japan so it is Pimped smile.gif as its harder to get than Ice Age BB

Has anyone been doing testing for Post Ravnica Standard?
A lot of decks will die off from the result,

Most notably
Angelfire - The lost of its biggest cards namely Helix, Remand, and most importantly the Karoo's hurt this deck too much.
Project X - We know its dead.
Solar Flare - Although variants of this is still possible somewhat. Loses Castigate, Angel of Despair, Court Hussar.
Martyr - Good Riddance. not dead but Proclamation is gone. WEE!
NarcoBridge - Useless without the Grave Troll and Stinky

Decks that hardly lose anything at all.
Dralnu
Mono U Pickles,
Mono R Gargadon

I do not think of myself as an expert so I might be wrong on this. But what you do you guys think ? I'll be analyzing the set very very carefully because I'll be attending the UK Champs coming up next month.

i won't bother testing for post Rav standard until i get the official spoiler. at the moment, the list on mtgs is still missing ~120 cards and some of them aren't 100% confirmed. i'll also have to prepare for my own Champs but i don't want to build a deck around a card and find out later that its a POS. that said, i think i'll be playing something with Tarmogoyf  smile.gif .
*
As someone who doesn't own a single tarmogoyf, i'll be playing black so I can pack 4 deathmark to piss tarmy players off smile.gif

Well, seeing that the coming season is sealed deck and draft (all the way to PT KL), standard might not be playing such a big part other than FNM. I'll wait until after morningtide to decide what deck to play.

Nah, I'm just asking because I'm really outta the loop for standard at the moment. I'm currently practicing for Legacy but I do wanna prepare for Champs. Since M'sia had its nationals later, I figured you guys would be in the know.

anyone letting go

2x golgari grave-troll
3x ichorid
2x city of brass
4x tarnished citadel
*
OOO somebody is going to make an extended Ichorid deck smile.gif

I prefer to play Fetchlands 2x Life from the Loam and 4x Cephilid Coloseum as I believe its more stable.
Stable because here in the UK Flow Rock is very popular. 4x Leyline of the Void are normal sideboard options. Therefore with Fetchlands I can still grab basic lands and stall till i get Chain of vapour etc to kill their enchantment smile.gif

i always prefer extended than standard decks smile.gif coz i have no money to catch up always with the latest deck

yeah thx for reminding me bout the cephalid coliseum i will take note biggrin.gif

Lol Believe it or not, I've actually seen TEPS beat this deck? it was a 1 in a million shot.

TEPS starts

Sac Land - Lotus Bloom Go

Ichorid - City of Brass - Putrid Imp GO

TEPS - plays City of Brass go

Ichorid EOT Discards GOlgari Grave Troll + Stinkweed Imp

Ichorid - Dreadges a total of 12 Cards by cycling Street Wraith and gets 2x Bridges , 1x Necromeba but no Dredge Returns. Should be a next turn kill.

TEPS- Plays Sac land go Lotus Bloom comes down next turn.

Ichorid - Dredges finds the Dredge Returns and the Flame-kin Zealot and if that's not enough 1x Necromeba. Does his thing

TEPS- During Ichorid's declare attack step, sacs his Sac Land for WU and takes pain from City of Brass for Orim's Chant with Kicker.

TEPS wins with a mind's desire of 5 because he manages to flip Desire as the last card LOL.

With Ravinca moving out, has there been a massive drop in prices for Rav cards? I'm just asking because i just saw Loxodon Hierarchs for only Rm 17.5. Wouldn't mind picking them up for extended season so I can play Gift's Rock

I'm still underwhelmed by the new set. Although testing Lorwyn on MWS has proved fun .... in limited, I still cannot see how constructed is going to be after plays we've grown so acustomed to phased out.

IE: Turn 1: Stomping Grounds - Kird Ape
or Turn 1, Hallowed Fountain , Turn 2 Adarkar Waste - Remand !
etc etc etc.

Still doesn't stop me from pre-ordering singles online. The new Duals are going relatively cheap online. Got a playset of UB lands for 20usd or about RM70. Get them whiles their low because we're all going to miss our lovely Rav Duals.

eBay dont sell fake ones meh?? Im afraid if theyre selling fake ones

BTW are there any fake MTG cards?? There is alot in Naruto and Pokemon and Yugi-OH tho... Was there a case in a torney a judge check whether the cards are genuine or not?? Just curious coz were supposed to play with genuine cards right
*
Well like Holi^oNe says type 2 cards areusually ok. Vintage cards like the Power 9 and various Beta lands are the usual culprits because they cost a lot more. This is mainly due to wizard for printing the 'Collector's Edition (CE)' which is a set that contained all the Beta cards. Now The set has no value besides for collection purposes, however the fronts are identical to the Beta set.

Thus People usually glue the front of a (CE) to the back of a normal card and passing it off as a genuine Beta. As for Ebay selling fake cards, there was a whole incident where somebody from Malaysia no less was selling Beta lands. Dunno who he is but he is one son of a b**** that's for sure.

7chai - Chilling at piccadilly circus ? Wah lau

You should go to the Ice Bar! Check out the high society girls smile.gif
Its at Mayfair on Heddon Street.

Chandra goes very fierce, standard price 25 - 30 bucks.

All others like Jace and Garuuk Im buying 20 each.

Black and White I tink is around 15 bucks.  laugh.gif
*
Chandra is the cheapest here in the UK. Most expensive is Jace.

On the pre-release of the new set, I can say that I'm seriously underwhelmed with the Planeswalker. Fact is, I even sided it out in 2 matches and there was no difference. Didn't do too well at the event (I'm horrible at sealed tournaments though its my fault for not sleeping enough).

Got in my packs
Garruk - Green Planeswalker
UW Dual Land
The Pre-release card
Hoofprint of the Stag.
Elemental that gives all others +1+1 and 1R to put an elemental into play
and some other Blue card ...can't remember

However I did manage to trade for some good S**TZ

RW Dual
Thoughtseize ..(so overrated)
B & W Hideaway lands
Underground River 10th
Wrath of God 10th so it wasn't so bad.

I would love it if a rogue deck wins the tourney but I highly doubt it sad.gif
