I did 6 mths / 10,000km service yesterday, Proton say do not have engine air filter and gasket. So the replacement deferred to next service.

Is this normal? Any danger?

Completed my 2nd service (10,000km / 6 mths) last week, but Proton service center told me that the Engine Oil Filter and some gasket/plug was not in stock. They suggest I proceed with the service and replace in the next scheduled service in 6 months time.

Anyone else faced the same? Is this an issue to withold the replacement by 6 whole months?

Guys, when is it useful to drive on ECO or SPORT mode?

Generally speaking, on free flowing roads where I travel at a smooth pace around 70 - 110 km/h (and even on roads with jam where traffic is stop-start), I don't find ECO mode to offer appreciable/noticeable improvements in mileage.

I can get around 500km on 42.5L of fuel (I let the "range" run to around 15km) in mixed driving (stop-start traffic, smooth roads, and speeding on empty roads). This comes up to around 11.7km/L when calculated manually. But in-car, it shows as around 12.5km/L. Not sure why the in-car mileage counter is higher, is it because the "range" is not accurate, i.e. even though it shows 15km, it can actually go a fair bit further than that without any fuel top-up?

Sweet spot seems to be around 75km/h to 100km/h where mileage can be as high as 20km/L if you know what you're doing and using the road profile to your advantage.

Anything above 120km/h and it starts getting to the 14km/L range. If you're going 150-160km/h, it goes even below 12km/L.

These are my findings on X50 Exec variant over the past 7 months. Driving is on NORMAL mode.

I'm happy with the car. Had an issue with the driver side door requiring more force than usual to close initially, but either I've gotten used to it or it's improved over the last 7 months.

The weakest point about the car is the tablet unit, it's just pathetically slow and low quality. I wish they just used a basic system, rather than a cheapo China tablet.

The ride and handling and comfort....unmatched at this price point.

Guys how to lock car with keyless manner?

I know to unlock just go near the door handle, but how about lock?

Anyone can share a BAREBONES system for the head unit? I don't need all the nonsense shit on it. Including no need voice activation or maps or internet connection for that matter. Only the basic stuff.

X50 prices have gone up by around 10% from launch price now! This is the latest revision which includes both SST and additional inflation markup.

86.3k, 93.3k, 101.8k, 113.3k respectively for the 4 variants.

Buyers also face a double whammy of higher interest rates!

Actually city driving easy to maintain FC of around 12-13km/L as long as no standstill jam lah. No reason to be speeding around, just light on the pedal.

The other day I was travelling at between 140-170km/h to Ipoh. Walao, the FC was super poor at 8.9km/L. Even damn bad standstill jam stuck in KL city center for an hour, also I never get so low FC.

But if I maintain at 120-130km/h, like I did on the way back, the FC is significantly improved to 12.5km/L.

Best is travelling at around 80-90km/h for cross city driving, can hit FC of 16km/L rather easily.

Also, why is the system for all the insurers saying my car’s market value is just RM68,900? In just one year drop RM15k? This is Executive variant.

But I feel quite dangerous like this, need to look at screen while driving. I believe almost every other common function in the car has got either knobs or buttons

Hi guys one of my keys showing low battery warning yesterday. I've had my car for 1 Yr 2 months now and usually change keys every 3 to 4 months.

Is it normal for battery to low so fast?

Also, how to change the battery? Can I DIY?

What brand to buy? Does it matter? I see Panasonic is rm25 for 5, but other selling 5 for rm4 also got. Some even selling rm0.40 per piece. GP selling 5 for rm10

How come other people saying their key fob battery can last 3 to 4 years? Plus, I seldom drive, usually just two or three times a week.

Some more, this key I am changing to, I only used it once for 3 to 4 months period, yesterday was the second time I alternated to it. Straight away got a low battery warning indicator.

I’ve alternated like this:

Key 1 - Oct 21
Key 2 - Mar 22
Key 1 - Jul 22
Key 2 - Dec 22

Never use remote start, always use touch to lock and unlock.
